Dr. Chaojie Chen, MD

Said she’d take care of me but then forgot to call in my prescriptions, refused multiple times my requests for asthma meds after saying she’d prescribe them, takes on new patients but zero follow through, impossible to reach - have to use ER.

She doesn’t listen!!!!!

Dr. Chen is more interested in volume than she is quality of care. During my visit, she was totally unprepared (had not bothered to look at test results or hospital report prior to my visit) even though I have a very serious illness. I was clearly distraught but she showed little compassion. During the approximately 15 minutes that she allotted to me, at least twice she said "I have other patients waiting," as though I was bothering her. This entire practice (Suburban South Family Physicians) is grossly understaffed, especially after Dr. Everly left. To compensate for this, they assign patients to nurse practitioners as your primary care provider (instead of physicians), even for serious illnesses. On a previous visit, the nurse practitioner I was given was part-time and very unknowledgeable.(Dr. Chen told me an actual physician is required to see you only once a year). She also stated that an NP can do the same things a doctor can. Really?? I will never go back to her or that practice… again. Dr. Chen is somewhat immature and still has a lot to learn in dealing with patients. Unless you have something simple like the flu, go somewhere else.
