Dr. Charlene Anne Letchford, MD

I was admitted at Renown on South Meadows due to blood clots in my leg and lungs and Dr. Letchford happened to be the doctor to handle my case. She failed to tell me that I had blood clots all over my left leg, and still discharged me from the hospital with only Xarelto to help with the blood clots and pain. The day I was discharged was horrible being at home not only dealing with my pain but my blood clots and leg were getting bigger. I had to go back to the ER at Renown on Mill St and come to find out they informed me I had a life threatening case of blood clots all over my leg and lungs that needed surgery. I don’t understand how Dr. Letchford was not able to give me the correct treatment the first time.

Absolutely zero bedside manner. She would be great working in pathology, surgery or the morgue but not with patients. She is rude, obnoxious and confrontational when any complaint is brought against her and retaliates with chart notes and H & P/Discharge Summary. I will never have her treat me at Renown or anywhere else and if she is the covering on the floor when I am admitted I will request a new doctor immediately. I have dealt with her previously nearly two years ago and was not impressed with her ability to work with people and my opinions were also confirmed by staff at the hospital....I would not recommend her to anyone. She may be a competent physician but she lacks good communication skills and acts like her patients are an inconvenience.

Dr. Letchford is wonderful. She was my doctor for over 20 years.

Dr Letchford saved my life. She diagnosised a very rare and aggressive form of brest cancer (Inflamatory Breast Cancer) on my first visit. I was able to begin treatment almost immediately and she was right there the entire time even coming in on a Saturday morning when her office was closed after I gave her a call late Friday night. She also was able to recommend the right group of specialists that took me on this incrediable journey toward survival.
