Dr. Charles Y Aikawa

I am nearly 50 years old and this is the worst dentist I have ever heard of! Me and my significant other have gone to this office for 2 years. In 2024 we went there and saw Dr ken. We loved him and we appreciated that he did not try to force us into getting dental work that we could not afford. This year we were told we could no longer see Dr Ken and were forced to see Mr Aikawa . My significant other suffers from a missing half of a front tooth. His severely damaged tooth has been exposed for 18 months. Not only did mr Aikawa refuse to allow him to have a implant put he strong armed him into taking a referral for a root canal. Now I am a little knowledgeable in this field. I know that his front tooth has been exposed for 18 months and it has less than a 10% chance of surviving a root canal. Shouldn't this guy know that? Is he completely incompetent? Or as I suspect he is a scam artist. That was only my significance others experience. 2 weeks later on my own separate experience. I went… to have my yearly exam done and schedule my teeth cleaning. Then again he's strong armed me with the referral! Again I know a little bit about this process. He told me that my gums were so bad I had to go see a specialist and pay thousands of dollars to get my teeth cleaned. The reality is, he took my gum pocket measurements himself, I have a couple pockets that measured a 5/6. All of my other gum pockets were a 3/4 or below. On what planet can a dentist not give me a deep cleaning? He is strong arming me to go and see a specialist and spend $15,000 to get special procedures done. At this point me and my significant other are stuck in a corner and cannot get any treatment going forward. My significant other is a manager at his job and has to walk around with half a front tooth now until probably the middle of next year until we can get a new patient appointment with a new dentist. I can't get my teeth cleaned. We now have to forfeit all our remaining dental benefits that we pay to our insurance company! In the meantime the condition of our teeth will deteriorate and we are stuck in limbo.

I felt very uncomfortable with this dental office on my very first visit. No friendly smiling faces were shown in this office. I felt very pressured and questioned his advice on treating me as a new patient. I feel I cannot rate them anything than the lowest rating possible or higher than a one star! ??
