Dr. Charles Franklin Benton, MD

My overall experience with Dr. Benton is very poor. He listens very little and seems to care very little about anything other than what he thinks. He tested me multiple for the same condition, and seemed upset at me that his diagnosis was incorrect. Dr. Benton also seemed to not believe in my complaints and was hesitant to prescribe any medications, even if following his other recommendations of meeting with health professionals to insure compliance Presbyterian health regulationsI talked with several younger patients in the waiting Room (I am 30 years of age) and they had the same complaint. Older patients seemed to be fine with the Dr. Online reviews seem to indicate the same trend Dr. Benton chooses whom he listens to, and decides based on what he feels other than actual test results or other Drs recommendations. The experience has been so poor for me I have decided to change Drs as my condition has only gotten worse, and this Dr refuses to do anything other than cut me off… when I am describing illness.

Dr Benton has been my Dr for about a year now when I went to him for some help for stomach problems he seemed concerned. I told him that going to the restroom was very abnormal when I had bowl movements either i had issues not being able to for days at a time I get very bloated and when i do go is diarhia.He did set up an appointment for a perfessional Dr. For the time being I had been missing work for the fact that when I do go its fast or deal wth some discomfort or pain. so he did sign FMLA papers. But not with out hesitation. His comments were ( I am not just going to just sign over a free paycheck) First I do not get paid for not being at work and second I am not looking to get out of work for nothing. I am not that kind of person. I work hard when I am at work but I work in a call center and we are not able to call in sick. When we do results in a write up when we are scheduled there is no I have the flu or cold. Drs note does not work. Anyways the issue has increased now I have… a pain in left side when I go feels like a knife and been there for over a month I have gotten used to it now feels like a dull pain when cough feels like im getting jabbed on the side. I hate feeling like my Dr doesnt trust me I have never given him any reason to mistrust me. I never have posted anything about anyone but feel its important to see if others have had been treated like this. Being the fact that I am Hispanic made me feel like I just want to cheat the system or lazy. All I want is to be better......
