Dr. Charles Joseph Dow, MD

I had to see Dr. Dow to get clearance for surgery. He was extremely sharp and helped me understand the options for medications I have been taking for years. Dr. Dow is not my regular cardiologist but I plan to see if he is accepting new patients so that I can switch.

I have found compete confidence in seeing Dr. Dow. He has diagnosed me correctly after not getting answers for years on my illness. I would recommend him to anyone and he is worth the wait.

Was getting pre op prior to hip surgery. Mentioned pain in my arm occasionally. Nurse requested cardiologist prior to signing off. Dr. Dow was in room 30 seconds later, asked what did they call him for. After telling him, he listened to heart and back, looked at EKG and signed off. Total time in room did not exceed 3 minutes. Received bill for 45 minute initial new patient visit, and the best part is he didn’t except many forms of insurance, mine included. I know that insurance deeply discounts their services and they like nothing better than to bill the patient directly at full price. Saw a segment on CBS world news last night that the attorney general from Ma. Is looking into this deceptive practice. Be forewarned, stay away from doctors like these.

TERRIBLE DOCTOR, HORRIBLE STAFF. NOT PROMPT AT ALL. AND NEVER AROUND FOR EMERGENCIES.

One of the best medical experienceds I have ever had . This Harvard trained surgeon with 25 years of experience spent an hour explaining to my mother her heart condition, did her stent procedure himself, and saw her in the hospital every day. He then saw us in his private office right in the hospital.

Anybody who is fortunate enough to be treated by Dr. Dow in my opinion has to see him as the jewel in their crown and treasure such a compassionate and brilliant human being and brilliant doctor.Lois Titherington Yes, sometimes the wait is long because he is treating the most serious and needy patients first.His office is like Grand Central station!

Dr. Dow as a medical professional is very good at what he does. His office staff, or lack there of, is a different story. He has only 1 Office Manager/Secretary and she is not very efficient, calls back to patients do not get done, her lack of multi-tasking is comical at best. When waiting in the office to see the Dr. there will be a room full of patients and all she will do is complain out loud about everthing little thing. She has even yelled at the Dr. on many occassions. She is not very polite and seems to be very unhappy. Not the kind of impression I would want for my patients.

RARE COMBINATION OF A DOCTOR WHO REALLY CARES AND LISTENS. WAIT TIME COULD VARY BECAUSE HE HAS EMERGENCIES AND SOME VERY ILL PATIENTS. HOWEVER UNLIKE MANY IN THE MEDICAL FIELD, HIS KNOWLEDGE IS SO APPARENT NOT ONLY IN CARDIOLOGY BUT IN ALL FIELDS OF MEDICINE.HE IS A VERY SPECIAL INDIVIDUAL!
