Dr. Charles Fessenden Edwards, MD

Dr. Charles F Edwards is absolutely the worst doctor I’ve ever had. Dr. Edwards was my doctor back in 2012 He delivered my twins via s-cection. I had a cyst rupture while I was 4 months pregnant with my twins after this my pregnancy became painful. When I was 37 weeks into my pregnancy my belly button started bleeding on and off throughout the day due to the growth of my twins, I also noticed that one of my twins was not moving a lot I went to Doctor Edwards with my concerns and asked if I could be schedule to have my c-section ASAP. He then responded by saying my condition was not considered life threatening and that I would have to wait until my 40th week. A couple of days after my appointment with Dr. Edwards I went into the ER because of contractions I was having. The doctor on call asked me if I wanted to go ahead and schedule a date for my C-section and I said yes, she then told me that she would be the doctor who would preform the c-section I told her I was fine with that. I… had one more appointment with doctor Edwards before my schedule c-Section. During this appointment Dr. Edwards was cold and rude. He told me that he was going to do the c-section and not the other doctor. Fast forward to the date of my c-section while in the recovery room Dr.Edwards came in and told me my uterus was shot. He did not recommend any type of treatment. Nothing! Months after having my twins I started having a lot of pain etc.. I went back to be seen by him, he had a vaginal ultrasound preformed which showed I had endometriosis, he the prescribed me with bith control, though this did help with the the hemorrhaging of my period it did not help with the pain, for years I went back to be seen by him, and with each appointment I had new symptoms. In 2017 I fell down the stairs of my apartment because I had low iron levels. My iron saturation was at 2%. I went back to the clinic Dr. Edwards which was Scripps Clinic Mission Valley. The receptionist told me that he had retired somI was seen by a new doctor, her finings were the same. By this point I had a lot of deficiencies and my iron was extremely low. It is hard for me to receive blood transfusions because I am rh negative so my new doctor but me on iv iron infusion. Shortly after I was laid off by my job and no medical. Fast forward to may of last year I went back to scripps mission valley and was seen by an new doctor who’s name is doctor Garg. I told doctor Garg of my problems and right away he scheduled for me to have a laparoscopy preformed his findings were enlarge uterus that was stuck to my bladder and abdomen wall my condition was so complicated that he had to send me to a specialist who then preformed a hysterectomy on me. I still have pain, my stomach swells up out of no where, I’ve lost over half of my hair because of my iron deficiency. If my uterus was messed up from my twin pregnancy why didn’t doctor Edwards recommend I get a hysterectomy back then. Oh and FYI he did not retire he is now practicing at a different scripps clinic. Ladies stay away from him. This man is the devil with a PhD.

Never going back. He can’t remember anything we’d talked about previously that was urgently critical to my care. He was abrasive and made me uncomfortable. I have no idea how or why Scripps keeps him around. Time to retire.

I have been seeing Dr.Edwards for my second year now. I like that he is straight to the point and pretty accurate. I trust him and I trust his staff. I truly do feel they care for me. His nurse Ashley is my favorite. So sweet. I have gone through two pregnancies and one being a miscarriage and I always feel safe underthis care

Oh my goodness, I have had pap smears for over 25 years and NEVER have I had one that hurt so bad, about jumped off the table! What the heck!! I left the clinic in tears. He left me with unanswered questions and pretty much darted out of the room and left me there. I got dressed and left. I'm still in shock about this.

After being referred by a close friend, I have been going to Dr. Edwards for 2 yrs. He was my obgyn for my first pregnancy and will be for my second also. He is the most caring and genuine Dr. I have ever met. He actually listens and spends time tending to concerns as other Drs rush through to get to their next appointment. I recommend him to everyone. He delivered my first born by cesarean and despite the circumstances, it was the best experience I could have ever asked for and was virtually pain free because of his experience and care. I never imagined I would be so comfotable during and after giving birth!! I highly recommend him. He is amazing and his staff is incredibly friendly as well!! A recent example of his kindness, I had just recently found out I was expecting but was unsure of whether or not I was ready for another baby, and Dr. Edwards called me personally to discuss all of my options and the possible side effects that each could carry. After deciding to continue with… the pregnancy, I called his office and got an appt about 5 days away! The fact that he called me personally to give me every possible scenario of what would and could happen with each option, was really touching and showed what a caring and compasionate person he really is. He didn't judge me for considering the alternative options and really made me feel comfortable discussing my concerns. He really cares about his patients and you will clearly see for yourself.

This doctor runs over the top of you like a steam roller. Rushed, doesn't listen, and doesn't care. Rough handling when palpating. Several questions not answered. I'm not going back, ever.
