His pulmonary residency and pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowships were completed at Georgetown University. He received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Hartley was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates.
