Dr. Charles Robert Herrick, MD

Completely disconnected from patients and how they are being treated by the department of psychiatry. Always get a second opinion if you or anyone you care about sees him or Dr. Kathleen Rivera.

I wish Dr. Herrick was more aware of how this department is being run and how patients and potential patients are being treated. There is a terrible lack of communication, many misdiagnoses and prescriptions not being sent to pharmacies despite doctors telling you "I am sending it now."

Very blunt and made me uncomfortable in his questioning. Did not return. Barely looked at me---just kept typing.

I didn't find Dr. Herrick compassionate but rushed and judgmental. Was very uncomfortable.

Dr. Herrick was quick to assume things about me and I felt judged in general. The medication he suggested was at a dose far too high to be safe for me.

Amazing doctor. Recommended highly. One note however, I have found his personal secretary difficult to get a response from - on more than one occasion. Go through other department personnel, much more effective.

I have been with Dr. Herrick for a good 6 or 7 years. He is very intelligent, caring and knows what to say to make things come together in your mind. If you miss an appointment, he will call to make sure you are OK. His staff is also very caring and they treat you like family. You wouldn't know he was the Chairman of the Phychiatry because he has no chip on his shoulder, he is very down to earth.
