Dr. Charles David Jackson, MD

Always friendly, thorough, and thoughtful. Our favorite!

David has always been super patient and gentle with my kids. Even shots aren't all that scary when he's in charge. His staff have done extra things as well, removing earwax (which can be scary as well but my waxy boy has never felt uncomfortable), asking lots of questions, showing personal interest in the kids. We don't take them anywhere else.

I have never had a person treat my child with such coldness and intolerance, much less a pediatrician. While my two year old and I waited for Dr. Jackson, I gave him a lollipop to appease him and from the moment Dr. Jackson walked in he never greeted me or my son but did immediately instruct me to take the sucker from him (explaining to me that it would get on his stethoscope and laptop computer) I took it away from my son as Dr. Jackson instructed me to, thinking that Dr. Jackson would begin the physical exam but instead, he sat down and began speaking with me and typing on his laptop while my child screamed for the sucker I had taken away. I understood that he could not have a sucker during the physical exam but I saw no issue with him sitting in my lap with it while the doctor and I spoke so I gave the sucker back to him and it was at that time that Dr. Jackson said to me that he would go see other patients while my son finish[ed] the sucker if that was what I preferred. I was… shocked at first since we were just sitting there talking. So, again, I took the sucker away from my sick child and asked Dr. Jackson to please begin the physical exam rather than forcing a sick two year old to sit in my lap staring at the sucker and making me sit there stretching my arm to keep it from him. He did. Unfortunately, Dr. Jackson never gave me any idea why my son could be sick but did offer a strong antibiotic and then asked if I wanted him to treat my son or "just hold on to it" if I felt he needed it at a later time. I am not a medical professional so I really am unsure of why the decision was left to me but since I had gone to receive some resolution for my sons illness I elected treat[ment]. I see that Dr. Jackson has twenty five years as a pediatrician but sadly, I am afraid he just doesnt like children anymore (if he ever did) or hates his job or maybe he just REALLY HATES SUCKERS. Either way, the antibiotic is not working so we are going to another doctor today.
