Used him for years.

Back in 2015 had a colonoscopy procedure preformed by this doctor. Never had any issues my primary doctor insisted that i do it because of my age.although, the center it self was accompanying i never was explained the cost involved if a polyp was found and removed.all he said (Dr. Krone) was will let the insurance company worry about it.Now i am paying $2000 in cost for 1 polyp never was explained the cost involved if my insurance company did not pay,Since then i had a kidney procedure preformed and the doctor and the hospital explained to me in detail how much i was going to pay out of pocket.No surprises. give me a choice Dr.Krone ! i did not need the procedure i could of waited until i had the money.

Dr Krone was running 1-hour late when I arrived for follow-up, and since I had to take time off from work to meet the appointment, this was especially frustrating. The desk staff delivered this information in a snarky manner, which did not help. When I was finally seen to a room by the nurse, she took my info about the reason for the follow-up and left me to wait again. When Dr Krone came into the room it was immediately apparent that he was flustered. He did not read the nurses comments and I had to deliver the information again. The follow-up was supposed to be for a minimally invasive examination to provide fidelity on whether a colonoscopy would be necessary. He had forgotten that this was the reason for the follow-up. When I reminded him that this was the reason for my return he said he felt the examination wasn't necessary. At this point I was further frustrated because it was the entire purpose for taking time off work to visit his office. I did not mention this reason to him,… but I did tell him that I was concerned about not receiving the exam since it had seemed important to him as a result his diagnosis during my first visit. He then said we could do the exam, but it would have to be at a different facility at a later date. This was upsetting because, as stated above, I was told at my first visit that the purpose for a return visit was to receive this examination. Going along with the fact that the examination would require yet another visit, and that time would be lost at work again, I asked about the cost of the exam, mentioning that my insurance has a high deductible. He then changed his mind again and said he wouldn't recommend the exam if cost was an issue, recommended I look into probiotics, that his favorite brand could be found at COSTCO, and that we should do a follow-up in 6 weeks! This was insulting. I politely left the room with no intention of returning. Upon receiving the bill, even after the adjustment from my insurance, the fee was highway robbery. I was charged for Dr Krone to keep me waiting, he was not aware of the purpose of my visit, and he nervously dithered in his composure and opinion. He truly did not seem "together." I will not be returning to Dr Krone's office, and am upset the I have to pay for this horrible experience. I would not recommend Dr Krone to anyone.

i was his patient for 40 years, and have now moved out of tucson to a small town - he is one of the kindest, most knowledgeable persons i have ever met. i have been gone about 10 years and am contacting him now about my serious illness, which he diagnosed in 2011. he is the best

Office staff quoted a price for a 15 minute procedure around $200, I got a bill for $700. The facility where the procedure was performed I paid separately, just over $400. The procedure was straight forward with normal results, so nothing extra was done. According to others this procedure, colonoscopy would cost between $200-$300 in the doctor's office. In this case he used another's facilities for everything needed to perform the procedure. I was robbed. There is no excuse for this high price for the doctor's personal fee. Make sure you get everything in writing first before agreeing to procedures, especially since basically we patients are not getting any help from insurances.
