Dr. Charles Franklin Leonard, MD

Can anyone post if they have any current problems with this psychiatrist? I want to be objective & see if it is me or the doctor.

His mane concern is making money rather helping clients. Trties to develop a a "program" that tells him what to ask to define a "profile" of 55client. This results in questions answeared 2-5 years back, many of which have little to do with diag. or treatment Previous style was to descibe what happened durring a 5 year period in ONE paragraph. In my case he nhas brought back PTSD problems that took most of my life to cone to grips with.Dangerous for both of us.

Dr. Leonard is a Senior Psychiatrist with a lifetime of professional experience dealing with difficult patients and so called professionals. I was a former difficult patient from an outside unprofessional agency yet Dr. Leonard agreed to help me and work with another agency's Therapist. Dr. Leonard calls after hours because he cares to help his patients. Dr. Leonard's wisdom and many years of helping addicts, mentally ill and disturbed patients is the reason why Dr. Leonard is unique and the best! Dr. Leonard promptly and accurately diagnosed my condition and prescribed the right medications. The other agency then wrongly and falsely accused Dr. Leonard and insisted that I leave Dr. Leonard. I was so impressed how professional Dr. Leonard reacted when I told him. He spent my last appointment making copies of my records. I have the utmost respect for Dr. Leonard because he's appropriate, professional and still trying to help people that are being disrespectful, ungrateful, hurtful,… difficult, malicious and iniquitous.

Worthless, over-prescribing doctor. Makes matters worse. Sickening,

Yes Dr Leonard's procedures may be different from others & I myself have butt heads with him at times. BUT, as patients that are addicted to certain meds and coupled with mental issues I feel the Dr. And his ways are done with true care and to PROTECT you and keep you from relapsing! We as patients shouldn't get the easy road as we all know what we did with that in the past. Dr. Is extremely thorough and cautious not to control us but to PROTECT us and you better believe it. Also I am going through a serious situation w a PTSD issue and Dr. L. had gone the extra mile to be there for me and help me with every last detail, including helping me along through the court process, to insure I get not only the most out of my case but the peace of mind I need. I am a coach at the high school level and was taught by my dad that a 100 people will love you as a coach and a hundred will hate you- I believe it is the same with anyone working with people and being their guidance and leader of a… certain thing. So with that Dr.....I would be in a completely different and worse off situation with out your help! Thank you!

To even call him a doctor is wrong! He NEEDS to be looked at by the medical board ASAP!! He doesnt care about the people he is treating what so ever! You wait well over an hour in the waiting room before being seen and when you are seen your visit may be done at the reception window for 5 minutes!! Who does that? Ill tell you who, a doctor that needs to close the doors on his practice! He calls you back at midnight or even later when you have been calling all day long trying to get your meds refilled, and when he actually does call the meds in your left wondering how many days is he going to give me this time!! He causes more anxiety than you already have! And when your not dealing with his b.s your dealing with his unqualified answering service who shouldnt be answering there own phones never mind the phone of a so called "doctor"! I would not refer my worst enemy to this crackpot of a doctor! And i give him 0 stars not 1

So, The stars won't add up to a 4 star. Dr. Leonard is a little scattered or worse and yes you do have to wait but if you take the time, to trust and don't hope for immediate solutions (there are none in mental health)- He's an excellent doctor and you come away learning more if not very slowly what you need to know. Life, and people are not perfect. It's a good start by allowing for that.

I agree with everyone who gave a 1 star rating, especially the person who wrote "Worst Experience Ever". I stopped seeing this Dr. over one year ago. Did not write a review, but thought of doing so often. 1+++ hours waiting time was the norm. Once in the session, he took phone calls, made copies, left the room to dispense medication to a patient in the waiting room - all matters not related to me. Interrupted/ corrected me when I voiced an opinion. I needed a refill for a medication and he asked me to have his answering service page him every 15 min. as a reminder, starting at 7:30 p.m.This went on for several hours. I am not exaggerating when I state that during my session approx. 15 minutes were devoted to me, if you can call it that. He started drawing my family tree!? We got as far as mother, father, former husband and a couple that are friends of mine. What was that all about? Told him (he actually let me speak this time) that my husband had cheated on me many times. He said he… wanted details. No joke. Was I supposed to draw him a picture? Once a woman who was obviously in great distress came storming back into the waiting room, saying out loud to herself (she was VERY upset) "I can't stand this............". I decided that I was not the one needing a psychatrist (I am not talking about the woman) and was not going to waste anymore time on this charade. Cancelled my 4th appointment. Time for this Dr. to retire. In my opinion he does more harm than good. Wish I could give a 0 star rating. When I saw him his office was located at 1214 Park Street in Stoughton.

Controls His Patients With The Medication That He Subscribes & Keeps Woman Under His Control By Only Giving Enough For A Few Days? He Makes His Patientes Under His Care Call Him At All Hours Of The Night To Set Up Appointments For A Few More Pills? Caution He Is In A Powerfull Position As A Doctor And Has A Very Controling Personality!

one of the worst dr. ive ever been to.he is anal tries to push his beleives on you doesn"t like confrontation.makes you wait for your meds knowing that you need them just for punishment.iwould not refer him to my cat!!!!! oh yeah, he got this weird thing with paper?lol oh his famous saying,it's a desease,but what dr. would withhold there meds if it was a desease!!!!! oh andwhat kind of dr makes you wait in his office for three hours? i bite my tongue everytimim i see that idiot!!!!oh yeah if he feels like calling in your meds it could be up to 24to48 hours. sicerly an ex patient. 3
