Dr. Charles Lee Mccord, MD

I don't even know where to begin, with all of the things that happened while seeing Dr. McCord. I began going to him during my second pregnancy. From the get go it was a bad experience; waiting for hours after my appointment time even when I showed up early, disrespecting me and my 2 year old by acting like we were an inconvenience, labeling me a "high risk" patient and refusing to give a reason why, needlessly sending me to a high risk doctor (3 times) and being told by that doctor that there was absolutely no reason for me to have seen them and that Dr. McCord needed to stop sending me to him, being left in the waiting room while Dr. McCord took a personal phone call and ignored for an hour before simply being dismissed...the list could go on. However, the most maddening thing that happened came about with his urging to have a c section. He said that there was a significant risk of complication with a natural birth since forceps had to be used with my last pregnancy. He pretty much… made it sound like I would definitely face these complications if I didn't have a couple section. I reluctantly decided for a c section. Come birthing day, he found that not only would a natural birth had of worked fine, it probably could have been less destructive to my body than a c section. But it was too late at that point. And just to add a cherry on top of this horrible experience, I received a bill a month later from the hospital for the cost of the compilation section. Thinking that it would have been covered under insurance, I found out all too late that only necessary c sections are covered, not optional. The way Dr. McCord made it out to be, it was pretty much a necessary procedure. And he never once mentioned that I may shoulder the $5000 bill for an optional c section.

To begin, every time I have been seem the wait has been well over an hour. Sometimes two. I arrive to my appointments on time, and patients being seen by him as well have been called before me, although they arrived after me! They have never once offered and apology or explanation of why I've had to wait so long. When I went to get my implanon removed, he just assumed it was in my left arm and was about to start without feeling or making sure it was the correct arm! He does not care about his patients, just the money he makes off of them. Today, I waited am hour and fifteen minutes for the check up after having my implanon taken out, once I was finally called back, I was not sent to a room, he met me behind the lobby door and just touched my arm and said I was good to go. It did not even take two minutes! I asked for my medical records, because I am switching to another doctor. I had to wait another 30 minutes for them. This office is horrible, and I do not recommend it to anyone.

I have gone to Dr. Mc Cord for over 10 years. He delivered my last child 9 years ago. I never complained about the 45-1 hour wait times. Over the last four years, the quality of service and concern regarding my health and wellness has declined. The cause seems to be the lack of organization in the office as well as lack of concern or urgency when it comes to my health concerns. When I called and explained my concerns and how to correct them, the office manager called me back and told me it was the patients fault. She never apologized or assured me that my concerns were listened to or taken seriously as something that can effect the total quality of my healthcare. I broke up with them today and have started the process of a new doctor.

I went in complaining if pelvic pain, Dr. McCord ordered an ultrasound of my uterus after feeling a "thickness". During the ultrasound, I watched the technician mark two different ovarian cysts, labeling them "cyst 1" and "cyst 2". When Se. McCord came in to consult, they discussed that one of them was complex and he also performed an ultrasound to check the cysts. Then he told me to get dressed and meet me at the check out. He never discussed the cysts with me. I had to call back and ask why that was and if I needed to be concerned. I was told,"yes I did have two cysts and that one was complex and he wanted me to come back for a recheck in a month. Had I not called back, I never would have known. Fast forward one year and many rechecks and second opinions. I still have the complex cyst which has grown and I also have a large simple cyst. Again, never any follow up unless I ask them about next steps. I witnessed Dr. McCord at the bar at a local restaurant in his scrubs at 5pm having a… cocktail and was told by a former patient and his neighbor that he is a regular at the bar. Another friend almost died from sepsis after he performed her hysterectomy and ignored her concerns during her recovery time. She went to another doctor who immediately admitted her to the hospital and called Dr. McCord to bless him out for treating a patient that way.

Over a 2 hour wait to be seen......horrible service and will never go back. I would have left but they collected my Co pay up front. Do not use this "doctor"

I used Dr. McCord for two of my four pregnancies. For both deliveries he wasn't present. I got whatever Dr. Was on call at the time. That didn't bother me so much. My problem is... When I asked him to do a tubal ligation he said that they would rather do the essure procedure. Once I did research on this procedure I declined and asked him to do a traditional tubal ligation. His nurse even said that he wouldnt have a problem doing this. When I went in for my 4 week PP visit I requested the tubal ligation with him again. He refused, he continued to push the essure even after I told him I wasn't comfortable with the procedure. By the end of the visit all we could agree on was me getting a low dose birth control pill. My son wi be 5 months old this week and my husband and I just found out we are to be expecting our 5th child. I will not use him again. I feel that he should have worked with me and what I was comfortable with. But that didn't seem like something he was interested in doing.… Use caution with Dr. McCord and educate yourself on the procedures he offers before you agree to them.

This office receives alot of medicaid patients and due to that majority the standards at this office is low. You always have a long wait time. The bathrooms are filthy even first thing in the morning. All of the rooms are dirty and dusty. Some of the nurses are not friendly at all. If this office did not take medicaid, I believe it would do better with its appearance and patients.

Dr. McCord and his nurse Jessica are the best. I have gone here for eight years, I now drive an hour to see them every year for my annual exam but it is well worth the trip!

Dr. Mccord had been my doctor for 6 years and i wouldnt have it any other way. He really cares and doesnt sugar coat things. When i was pregnant with my first child i had a diffrent doctor and hated the office. You dont have to worrie about seeing a bunch of diffrent doctirs when you go to him. Its just him and hes great and so is his staff!
