Dr. Charles U Nnadi, MD

I was a patient of Dr Nnadis for almost two years. I recently missed an appointment I was a no show no call and I swear before GOD this was the first time. I had fell into a really bad depression to the point where I could not even lift my hand to shower myself. When I started feeling better a couple of days later. I called Dr Nnadi to reschedule my appointment. I was told by his secretary that to schedule another appointment I would have to pay $100.00. I explained to her that I didn’t have it. I make 38k a year and I’m a single parent. I understand that none of this is anyone’s problem. I asked her to have Dr Nnadi call me which he never did. My mom called him as well he never called either of us back. I don’t understand why I wasn’t at least given the opportunity to at least make a payment arrangement. It’s just so sad that everything is all about money. I’ve had appointments with this man for over almost a full two years and this is the treatment I get. I was wanting to change my… Prescription because the medicine is not working for me anymore. I’ve been so down lately I have been considering suicidal. I have called and left numerous messages for other physiatrists but I haven’t found anyone yet and I’m just so upset that people don’t care about people. Everything is not about money. My life is more valuable than a lousy $100.00.

Dr. Nnadi is a very intelligent Psychiatrist and I trust him completely to make medical decisions together. He helps provide all of the information about medication options, and is not closed off about the idea of tapering off medications in the long term. He even ensures that you have medical testing depending on what medication you may choose to start. The wait time is anywhere from 5-15 minutes typically, and he is usually back-to-back with Patients. Often this is due to Patients being late, not the doctor himself. He will also answer all of your questions and not make you feel rushed. This makes me feel like it's always worth the wait, and you can get 2-3 months of a refill once you're stable, unless it's a controlled substance.

I've seen quite a few psychiatrists in my lifetime, but none come as close to Dr. Nnadi. For a doctor, he has extremely poor bedside manners. Within <20 minutes of seeing me, he diagnosed me within Bipolar I; a condition that has not previously appeared in my medical records, nor something that is in my family's history. He told me that the ONLY way I will get better would be if I took his prescribed medications. He did not provide me with additional recommendations and was not of help. He does not use an integrative approach at all. Please do yourself a favor and find a new doctor.
