Dr. Charles E Owens

Awful! Owens is a nightmare. I wasn’t comfortable around him ever since I was 10. He was always rude and harsh. At 15 I had to get a cavity filled. I had gotten the shot that makes your mouth numb, and he asked if I couldn’t feel anything. I misheard the question and said no, I thought he said “can you feel anything”. He went in for another shot and I realized my mistake and told him no, and tried to explain. I was backing away as I was telling him this and he grabbed my face, jerked it towards him, shoved the shot in my mouth while yelling at me to stay still. And I mean YELLED. I started crying, the whole situation was embarrassing. His assistant tried to comfort me, Owens didn’t care and never said anything. I had been going through a really rough time with depression and that was it. That was honestly my breaking point. I’m happy to say we don’t go there anymore. DON’T go to Owens! He has no right to work in this field, his treatment of patients is horrible!

I was a patient of Dr Owens for several years until my last visit. My routine cleaning with Carla were wonderful. Dr Owens found a cavity under my bridge so I made an appointment to have it fixed. I have to say it was the most horrible experience I have ever had with a dentist in my life. Dr Owens was extremely not patience at all during the entire procedure. I felt like he wanted to get it done and get me gone. After several shots and gas and the bridge removed he fitted me with a new one. I have been in total pain ever since I left. Unable to eat on that side of my mouth. I ended going to another Dentist in Nashville and was told the bridge was made to small. It did not butt up to the tooth in front so there was a huge gap between the bridge that Dr Owens put in and the other tooth, causing pain when I ate-and flossed. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone.

DR, OWENS IS THE BEST DENTIST IVE BEEN TO. HE AND HIS STAFF ARE SO WONDERFUL.

I’ve been going to Dr.Owens since the late 90’s and he and his staff have always treated me and my family great. ???? Up to you Doc!??

To summarize - Unprofessional, unfriendly and frankly rude. There were 3 women working and we received equally poor service from all. When we arrived there were a few personal conversations going on. However that didn't interrupt the chatter, we weren't acknowledged. I signed in and just sat down. When called they asked us about X-rays, I asked if that were covered because I was assisting their mother in bringing the child in for the vist. (Aunt). The woman became upset and complained that she didn't know. I offered to call myself and she just starters dialing. After she got off the call, she didn't speak with me at all and only went to the back. I later had to ask for the updat from her. A front desk is the first impression of any business. Competition is just a few doors down and that is where we will be going after today.

I had my tooth pulled by Dr Owens he was very patient and had good bed side manors , more than I can say go other Dentists. I dissagree with previous reviews

This man needs his license suspended. It's well known he's had a stroke. I've been a patient 6 years. I trusted him in the beginning. The more I seen him recently the more worried I became. I had x-rays done on a tooth I was having pain from. When he said root canal or extraction I went for the extraction considering it was a very back tooth. I also has a crown seated. Once he started the extraction I was not numb completely so he gave more shots. I advised him my jaws were getting tight as he knew I had tmj. He told me I'd be fine and he'd be back. He tried again to do the extraction but the pain brought me to complete tears. I couldn't even breath in the laughing gas I had been in. At this point my jaws were completely locked open. After more shots and more pain he extracted the tooth and left me sitting to figure out how to shut my mouth. I mentioned I needed to go to the er. Then it seemed to ring an alarm. He had a nurse call an oral surgeon 30 mins away to see me. Never called my… emergency contact on my records. Never offered to have someone drive me there. In the pain I was in with what was found to be my jaws were dislocated, he wanted me to drive in afternoon traffic 30 mins away. I hardly made it to the er 10 mins away. They took me straight back because my BP was 199/100. Never had a bp problem. The doctors first question was "Did your dentist send you here like this? Did this happen in his office?" I then had x-rays which they couldn't see my jaws well due to all the swelling that I already developed. I ended up having to have a CT scan done to see if my jaws were dislocated or broken. I was given dilaudid, antivan, then 2 shots of verocet to be put to sleep to have my jaws put back in place. While this was all taking place I was being caled by his office after they had already closed. My appt. was at 12:40. My arrival time at the er was 5:40. My jaws were dislocated for almost 8 hours due to this dentist not having the patience of a professional to understand what his patient was trying to tell him before it escalated into something much much worse.

Staff is not informative concerning procedures and aftercare needed.

The most memorable thing about going to this dentist was how he left me on the gas soooooo long (about 5 HOURS) while he worked on another patient and I ended up vomiting. And to be honest that was not my worst experience seeing Dr. Owens. He was a horrible dentist. When I would go to see him the wait was very very long. Not only in the waiting room but also in the exam room as he was always double booked. It was not uncommon for him to work on other patients after already starting work on me. Then he would do like this merry go round thing and go from me to another patient and back. It was horrifying. Yes I continued to go to him for multiple things because you choose a dentist/doctor and you want to TRUST him/her. I should not have trusted that man. I give one star for every item only because it's required. If I could give negative stars I surely would.
