Dr. Charles Vincent Phillips, MD

Just had my last follow-up with Dr. Phillips. It's been about five weeks since my surgery. The experience went as well as I could hope any surgery could go. I had virtually no discomfort at all from the day of the surgery. I took some Motrin for the first few days as more of precaution than anything else. I didn't have to bother with the real pain pills at all. It just really never hurt. All interaction I had with Doctor Phillips was a pleasure throughout the entire process. I couldn't ask for more.

Awful bedside manners for a surgeon that also screwed up my colon cancer surgery he performed...one week after my surgery I am taken to emergency room via ambulance at 9pm in pain and where he removed a portion of my colon that had a cancer tumor he stapled my colon together it had broke loss and stool was leaking inside my body, the hospital called him to let him know I was in ER and the reason why...he did not come to see me in ER until 9:00 the next morning and had the gull to tell me my colon had broke loose and he needed to do surgery again to fix it but he already had a full day of surgeries scheduled that I would be the last one!!!!! He was reaking of ALCOHOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another doctor making his rounds that morning admitted me to the hospital I layed in a room until 3:00 that after noon fading in and out of consciousness my body becoming septic...he told my family after surgery that I might not live!!!!!!!!!!!! I wake up after surgery with a colostomy bag!!!!!!!!!!!! He … never once showed any feelings for me.......for four years I went to numerous doctors and had numerous scans that all show loose staples floating around inside of me that Dr. PHILLIPS left in me... to see if they could fix me, take the colostomy away, and they ALL said no its not fixable!!!!!!!!!!! I was 45 years old and single and stuck with a colostomy bag!!!!!Thanks a lot Dr. Phillips !!!!!!! I will never go see Dr. Phillips again or recommend him to anyone he is not a good surgeon and he is evil..... Five years later my sister and her husband took me to Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale Arizona to see a specialist. Praise God he performed a miracle on me and fixed my colon and removed my bag...

Whenever I've had surgery recommended by my doctor, I ask him where he would go to have that same surgery. Dr. Phillips was the first name that two of my doctors mentioned.

Dr. Phillips would not prescribe me any pain killers other than vicoden after my gallbladder removal surgery. I am allergic to vicoden and not only did he still try to prescribe it but refused to give me anything else after I informed the staff I could not take it. He said ibuprofen should be fine. After a night of no pain meds I called my regular physician who prescribed me pain medication I was able to take. Taking it as directed I will run out tomorrow and am still having a lot of pain and drainage. I saw Dr. Phillips today and he said everything looked fine and sad that if I wanted he could give me antibiotics but he didn't think I needed them. And that again I did not need anymore pain killers after he made me cry from pushing on my stomach so hard. I again called my regular doctor and he took care of it. Pain management and patient health is not important to him at all.

he may be a good surgeon, but who wants a surgeon that is rude and mean? I know I didn't appericate hime pulling me by my neck within a week after having my side sliced open. He was the most inconsiderate person/ doctor I have ever encountered. And then he took what I said to the heart and cried like a baby!! However thankfully there was an awesome suregon with in his office that was respectful & generous that ended up taking care of me cause I refuse to ever see that man again..... Worst experience ever... If you want a surgeon that cares about how you feel, DO NOT SEE HIM!!!

Excellent doctor. Professional and direct. I had laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedure as outpatient with minimal discomfort and no complications. I highly recommend Dr. Phillips.
