Meet Dr. Poland
Dr Charles Poland grew up in Indianapolis, attended North Central High School and Indiana University (AB Zoology).  He received his Dental degree (DDS) from Indiana University School of Dentistry.  Following dental school, he completed a three year Residency in Oral Medicine, a two year Residency in Pediatric Dentistry and a one year Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Oral-Facial Genetics.  He then joined the faculty at the IU School of Dentistry and Riley Hospital for Children as an Associate Professor of Pediatric Dentistry and Oral-Facial Genetics.  He became Chief of Pediatric Dentistry at the Riley Hospital Child Development Center and Acting Director of the Riley Hospital Dental Clinic.  He has since had a full time private practice of Pediatric Dentistry in the Castleton area for over 25 years. 
Dr Poland has authored several papers in dental journal publications and contributed chapters about Pediatric Dentistry in several Pediatric medical text books.  He is a …Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.  Dr Poland remains active in the American Dental Association, the Indiana Dental Association, the Indianapolis District Dental Society, the Eastern Dental Society, the Indiana Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. 
His honors include invitational membership in the American College of Dentistry and the International College of Dentistry.  He was the national recipient of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's "Pediatric Dentist of the Year" in 2000.
Dr Poland particularly emphasizes introducing the very young child to dentistry in a positive and fun manner through behavior guidance, behavior modeling and plenty of TLC.  Dr Poland has five children and three wonderful active grandchildren.  His hobbies include golf, skiing, fly fishing and growing roses.
