Dr. Charles Arthur Rademacher, DO

WOW this place felt like a total SCAM!!! Or at least Dr Rademacher treated me that way! I call to make an appointment for a DOT/CDL physical and it took the people who make the appointments 3 try to get it right. First they tell me that they will send me a form to complete so that they can determine if Dr Rademacher will accept me, no problem I replied. Two days go by with no email, so I stop in and tell them I didn’t receive it, the lady tries to tell me her email must not be working, RIGHT, cause emails never alert you when an email doesn’t go through. So I complete the form there and return it. They call me to make an appointment. I go in and they tell me they are sorry that they didn’t realize I was only in for DOT physical and that paper work was not necessary, but they have me fill out the correct paper work. I complete and answer all the medical questions including that I am on a CPAP machine. The Dr goes all through the entire Physical and tells me at the end that… since I do not have my three month CPAP report with me that he can not pass me and that once I get it I will have to return and go through the process again including being charged another $120.00. My response was how I am suppose to know that I need to bring that in? He said that nobody does, so I ask why not make a list of items that people need to bring in he, said that list is just too long. In other words most everyone is likely going in twice since there is no warning of what one needs to bring, which means he makes $240.00, thats pretty good way to double your money for a 10 min visit. But, I need a physical so I made another appointment. It gets better; My wife works in the medical field (St Marys Hospital) and she found it odd that he is charging twice but said it is a private practice so he can probably do that. She knows nothing about DOT physicals so she asked the department there how they handle it. Come to find out they do not charge twice if thats the case and they only charge $75.00. So I call and make an appointment, guess what? They screen me as they make the appointment, asking me all the medical questions, including about the CPAP machine. Once she finishes I ask if I need to bring in the report, she no, its NOT a federal requirement (unless the company you work for requires it) but bring it if you have one. I asked again are you SURE I don’t need it (I explained what happened two days prior) again she says the Dr said it is not required. LOL once again it felt like a scam at the other Drs office. So I call Dr. Rademachers office to confirm that they will charge me a second time, she says they feel bad about it but yes they charge again. Of course I can’t help myself so I tell her how I spoke to another Drs office and they said I do not need to bring it in and how I feel like their office is somewhat of a scam charging people twice when no one knows to bring that report in. She got mad at me and said you don’t need to yell at me, I said I am not yelling I just want you to rely this info I discovered to the Dr and that this feels like a scam and that the report is not required…. she hung up on me in mid sentence :) Maybe others have a had a good experience with him, and good for them, but for me it was TERRIBLE, I of course will not return and feel it's important to warn my fellow DOT?CDL drivers. Lastly, in his defense, if he is just wanting to be thorough then thats fine, and let your patient know ahead of time to bring it in.

This physician is very knowledgable in diagnosing, and follow through with care.
