Dr. Charles Scot Reing, MD

Wrong lens implant, and a very poor follow up of presbyopia-correcting intraocular lenses (IOLs) that can restore a full range of vision without eyeglasses. “I’ve done thousands of them” is what I bought into; at the cost of permanent eye damage and thousands of non-refundable dollars per eye. Wrong lenses were put in after a 5 plus hour wait on a hospital operating table. I now have to wear glasses fulltime for the rest of my life. At the cost of thousands of dollars.

Based upon Dr. Reing’s excellent referrals I expected good results from my cataract surgery. Yet my expectations were exceeded. I now have better distance vision then I have ever had in my life and I can read without glasses. In my consultations with Dr. Reing he was patient, thorough, and friendly. The surgery was less traumatic than I had feared and the follow up care was meticulous. I recommend his care without reservations.

I would definitely NOT recommend this office. I didn't even get in to see Dr. Charles Reing (so I cannot tell if he is good or bad). However; the office staff is horrible!!! It was the first time I was going to this office. It had been a recommendation. First, when making an appointment, they should tell you that you would be going into a hospital. My navigation took me to Wayne. I found myself at St. Joseph's Hospital. I called the office and advised that I was lost. The woman told me that I needed to go into the hospital through a hallway and their office was at the end. I went into the hospital. The woman at the desk told me that I had to go through 2 doors (one was key coded). I had to put the code in. I walked through the hallway--up and down the hallways and still couldn't find the office. I called again, the answering machine came in. I continued to search for it--it must have been 20 minutes. I called again and once again the answering maching came on. I… finally decided to try to go upstairs (there were stairs). There was a board that listed all the offices and what suite they were in. I finally found it and was so irate. I started saying that you needed to give better directions when new patients are seen. She told me my appointment was at 3 and I would have to reschedule. I would never waste my time again! You shouldn't either.

There are two issues why I am writing this review. First, this doctor is not knowledgeable about my condition. Secondly, the last time I went to see him, he didn’t even listen to me, he answered his cel phone, and told the person to hold on. With the phone in his hand, he got up and told me to come back in a month... so disrespectful...

New to Randolph and didn't know where to go for my family's eye care needs. Came across this place when driving. Saw a banner on the road and called. The girl on the phone was nice, informative and offered many days and times for our family. First off the place is brand new. Beautiful. The staff was warm, helpful and very smart. The doctor was kind and spent some time explaining each of our eye issues. They have a nice looking optical with many choices. Working with them was the easiest thing since we've moved. Thank you!!

Had very bad catteracs and was seeing very cloudy in both eyes and had very bad stigmatism. Bottom line one eye at a time I got 20-20 now in both eyes and can read the bottom line on the eye chart. Never knew there was a bottom line on chart. I would whole heardily recommend Dr. Reinz. I can see a beautiful world again and very colorful.

A FANTASTIC SURGEON AND VERY PROFESSIONAL., I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR FOR ANY AND ALL NEEDED EYE SURGERY.

Dr. Reing did my corneal transplant in 1998 and I thank God for him every night. I drive far (from Cartaret to Wayne) to see him. His surgical skills changed my life. After 15 years, no other doctor wanted to help me but Dr. Reing did. I had surgery within two weeks. Dr. Reing made me feel reassured that my chances were very good. My life is finally normal again.

Dr. Reing and his staff have taken excellent care of me; as a patient, I couldn't be more pleased and grateful.

This is the first time I have been to this office and my first eye exam. Dr. Reing was very knowledgeable and the staff was very friendly. Having the eyeglasses available to look at and order there was great! I would recommend them highly.
