Dr. Charles Keener Scruggs, MD

Arrived for my 2 pm appt. at 1:40 pm. I saw Dr. Scruggs briefly when he ran his gloved finger around my teeth, made a few comments, and left. Waited in 2 different exam rooms until 4:40 pm when I gathered my belongings, walked to the front desk, told the girl my name, appt. time, dentist's name, told her to shred all my paperwork and left. Three hours wasted. Dr. Scruggs called that evening, blamed his office staff and apologized. Too little too late.

Wednesday morning I felt a little pressure, Thursday afternoon intense pain, Friday morning my dentist checked me out and said it was more than she can handle.. The phone calls began, not many oral surgeons are available for Friday afternoon emergencies. Dr. Charles K Scruggs accepted the challenge, within a few hours, I was in his chair being being checked out and prepped. Dr. Scruggs explained the procedure, in easy to understand terms, he is very caring, comforting and gentle. Its been 24 hours post surgery, and pain/swelling is already going down. Looking forward to the post op exam in a few weeks.

All of you people are CRAZY!!!!! DR. SCRUGGS is THE BEST THAT YOU CAN SEE! He has been GREAT with ALL MY FAMILY MEMBERS THAT HE HAS TREATED FOR MANY YEARS!

He has worked on my teeth for many years. He is a wonderful person. I would not go to anyone else for my oral surgeries.

My husband had been jacked around by Gulfside dental so long about getting a Dr release from his heart doctor, and He had been in excruciating pain for over 2 weeks, Could not get out of bed, felt like death was pretty much an option, yes it was that bad. We were referred to Dr. Scruggs, we thought he was in Galveston but had to drive over an hour and a half to get to his other office. We were told over the phone that they would assess the situation and we would come up up with a payment plan. I was fully ready to pay about 200.00 down and about 100.00 per week, nothing was mentioned to me about having to apply for Care Credit, well, of course, we didn't get accepted so over 700.00 had to be paid that day before they would do anything. I was Bawling by this point, my husband was ready to check out, that's how much in pain he was and I was so scared for him. They could see how much pain he was in, but would not give in not one red cent. So I had to call my boss and get an advancement… on my pay to get this done. The Office MGR is just not all a compassionate being, she is all about the money, and could care less if you were about to die. Nope, I will never refer anyone that is in desperate need to that office. you may need to be a millionaire before you can afford that if you do not have insurance like we didn't at the moment, we had been out for 4 days, and had no choice. We need people that care, not people who will drain you of every last cent you have to make a buck. So if you need someone who cares, bypass this office quickly.

Dr. Scruggs is an amazing oral surgeon. I have had the (unfortunate) opportunity to experience work from several surgeons, and he is by far the most honest and thorough of them all. He is also the only one who personally called me after the surgery to make sure I was okay. I am so thankful I found him and his expertise.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I WOULD! Let me begin -- Dr. Scruggs is one of the friendliest guys you will ever meet. I was afraid to have my wisdom teeth taken out for a long, long time. Dr. Scruggs and the office RN Sally made me feel completely comfortable about the procedure and what to expect. It seems like the surgery was done within seconds. My sutures where my 4 wisdom teeth were extracted healed beautifully as they have a great post-op regimen to follow! Thank you so much Dr. Scruggs for your pristine work and I will continue to follow up and come to you with any possible oral surgery in the future. Lovely staff, extremely smart and experienced surgeon. You are in great, safe hands here. Again, thank you bunches for everything!

Very personable and kind. Took good care of me during my procedure and called me that evening to check on me.

Had an appointment for a cap redo, sat and waited for three hrs after I had an appointment, staff (Kim and Sally especially) is very rude and the paitent room equipment looks like its from the fifty's along with his tools, I will never be going back there.

Unfortunately, Charles Scruggs is more interested in submitting to his temper and ego as a physician than he is interested in displaying professional behavior with other healthcare practitioners. As such, I cannot recommend patients visit him as their quality of care will suffer.
