Dr. Charles Robert Sexton, MD

I had calloused finger tips. I had been playing stringed instruments for the past forty-five years and was never bothered by them until my nails began growing improperly and my finger tips began peeling, cracking and bleeding causing unbearable pain. So, I made an appointment with a dermatologist. I had a number of appointments with Dr. Charles R. Sexton, M.D. Dr. Charles R. Sexton, M.D. did not believe I had calluses and continued to prescribe cortisone cream as well as other creams. At the last couple of appointments, in a desperate attempt to relieve my pain, Dr. Charles R. Sexton, M.D. began asking me what I think he should prescribe for my condition. During my treatment plan with Dr. Charles R. Sexton, M.D. my condition became worse as well as the pain. I plead with Dr. Charles R. Sexton, M.D. for any kind of treatment or remedy for calluses. Each appointment Dr. Charles R. Sexton, M.D. insisted there was no treatment for removing calluses. Eventually, Dr.… Charles R. Sexton, M.D. had me nearly convinced that perhaps I did not have calluses. Two weeks later, with no effective treatment I could find, in unbearable pain and left with constant peeling, cracking, bloody and calloused finger tips (and now mushy from Dr. Charles R. Sexton’s prescribed treatments) I unfortunately had to have one finger amputated. Two years after that I had a ray resection surgery in a desperate attempt to alleviate the constant and unbearable pain resulting from the amputation. It has been five years now since my finger was amputated. I will need to cope with and endure constant hand pain for the rest of my life due to the ignorant, misinformed, arrogant, thoughtless, careless, deceptive and bad treatment I received from Dr. Charles R. Sexton, M.D. A pre-med intern should be able to diagnose damaged, calloused skin and be informed of the very simple treatment. Three months after my finger was amputated I finally discovered Curad Mediplast Callus Remover Pads. Hospitals use them regularly on patients suffering from calluses. I could only find and buy them on-line. Within a month the calluses softened and peeled off, my fingers healed and my fingernails began to grow normally again. I hope physicians as well as those searching for a remedy for calluses can learn and benefit from my painfully tragic, life altering misfortune. This whole experience has been and will continue to be a real life nightmare. Dr. Charles R. Sexton, M.D. treated me with arrogance, patronization and ultimately pure ignorance. Dr. Charles R. Sexton, M.D. declined to listen to me, disregarded my actual condition and led me to believe there was no cure or treatment for calluses. Shame on you Dr. Charles R. Sexton, M.D.

Always get seen at appointment time with minimal wait. Super nice staff. No problems with billing/insurance. Dr. Sexton is clearly competent, takes time to explain things and is always pleasant. Doesn't try to sell me on unnecessary cosmetic procedures. Very professional all around.

o not go to Dr. Sexton for your dermatology needs unless you want to receive a bill for services that were not explained to you and NOT NECESSARY AT ALL! Needless to say I will definitely be disputing the bill I have received fromr Dr. Charles Sexton! Save your money and go elsewhere!

I had to read the review and decided to take chance and go experince it mysef... i was referred by a co worker of minds... and it was great... he and his staff aw wonderful and nice... i am happy to say I finally found a good dermatologist in Irvine who didn't try to see me things.... thank u Dr Sexton....

I had to laugh when I read someone's experience because it was very similar to mine. He snapped at me twice and belittled me to my husband. Very shocking and unprofessional. He didn't accurately treat and diagnose my child's condition. His staff seemed nice in a fake kind of way and when I questioned something, they seemed scared by their boss. They never returned my phone call. What kind of medical practice is this? Interesting behavior. Not a good fit for me nor my family and friends.
