Dr. Charles Anthony Soma, MD

I am a retired Fire F. Paramedic w 23 years of service. Dr. Soma cared for my double knee replacements post operatively , my right thumb arthritis and my Pro surfer son's fractured shoulder with sure great care and professionalism. We are grateful for his expertise.

Horrible experience. After my knee replacement my knee keeps dislocating. He would not acknowledge my complaint throughout my recovery. I tryed to get referrals from him to see another surgeon to see what was going with the knee after the surgery and he never submitted the referrals He new he did something wrong and finally refused to see me any more. 50k later and knee still dislocates

Dr. Soma has poor surgical skill and poor post-operative management.

Worst Butcher on the island of Maui. DO NO GO TO DR SOMA

Due to Dr. Soma's poor surgery, my wrist was further damaged beyond the original break and I was forced to have remedial surgery to repair the damage caused by his incompetence.

Chuck should have his license revoked, as he is very a shoddy and careless surgeon.

I'm very thankful for the treatment received by Dr. Soma! He went above and beyond to come up with solutions. My surgery and recovery went well. I definitely recommend Dr. Soma for shoulder and knee surgeries, he saved me from being permanently crippled. The staff was caring and effective, it's a busy place. I can see why now Dr. Soma is in such demand. If you are fortunate enough to get accepted as a patient, the wait times are the least of your concerns. You want good results, and good doctors on Maui are in demand.

Got me in last minute so I could schedule a surgery before the doctor left town. Still waiting on my surgery date confirmation.

I found Dr Soma to present a very reasonable approach to my shoulder pain, recommended physical therapy and when that didn't do the trick he advised me to have surgery which has solved my problem. I understand the logic behind his decision making and his explanations were clear and understandable.
