Dr. Charles Michael Sonu, MD

I can’t even fathom what just happened in my husband’s appointment with this horrible man. Dr. Sonu has the worst bedside manner of any doctor we have ever met (we have met a LOT). The news wasn’t great and this doctor was rude, condescending and made us feel so small and ignorant. Newsflash Dr. Sonu, not everyone is a doctor. I hope you learn empathy. It doesn’t matter how educated you are, you’re a terrible person.

I asked Dr sonu if he could add a fee more details to his notes so my workmans comp would approve me his respone to me was NO i already wrote them, so i got denied for 6 weeks pay and senority, all because he just couwldnt write a couple of details

Excellent back surgeon

This doctor had a less than pleasant bedside manner. I visited him for severe spine pain. I am concerned because I am a 3 times cancer survivor and want to eliminate the possibility of cancer. He was less than concerned with the fact I've had cancer, and did not order any tests. His receptionist was sick with the flu, she shared her entire family had it. I asked her why she was working while sick and she said because they had no one else to cover, she even had a fever. I was entirely offended that the doctor would allow this, he was even keeping a safe distance from her.

Dr. Sonu listened to me and patiently answered all of my questions. My situation was very serious and my authorization came through the day before he had a cancellation. He called on Thursday am and I had an hour to decide if I wanted to do the surgery the following Tuesday. I had been preparing and freezing meals and had most of the stuff I needed. I went for it and it's the best thing that ever happened to me. The therapists at my PT all said that if they ever had a back or neck problem, they would have him do it. Just be sure you do what he tells you to do.

I have had back problems for 10 years and can't hold a job due to a herniated disc. Dr Sonu was rude, quick to shoo me out of his office and offered me no options. His advice, lose weight. This is not a weight issue. In fact it's my back that causes the weight to fluctuate due to a lack of exercise from not being able to get out of bed at times because the diet hasn't changed. And for the record when I was "skinny" I continued to have the same back problems. Going out continuously and unable to go to work. Keep in my I'm not morbidly obese. I came to him for help and got nothing but frustration. I left his office in tears and feeling hopeless.

I would recommend staying away from dr sonu. i had a terrible experience with him. he puts no care or pride in his work and has no care for the patient. his always in a rush. cant stand the guy. dont recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is a very good doctor and is very professional

He did two surgeries (one front, one rear) on my broken back, 10 hours+, on the same day. In the unhappy event you need this, he's your man. Extensive follow up, clear, concise explanations.
