Charles Herman White JR., MD

So I know a lot of people get upset sometimes if they have to wait in Dr White's office. You have to take into account that he visits the hospital morning and night if you are his patient. Now I have had my Regular Doctor in Sumter come in and rush me and leave after 5 minutes. Dr White will go over everything you need to talk to him about and I've been in his office many times and spent an hour going over everyone of my concerns. That is a great Doctor. Like I said he is AWSOME!!!!

No initial consult before procedure. Waited until minutes before bronchoscopy to talk to me. I am an EXTREMELY high risk patient & this needed to be addressed BEFORE surgery. He was about 2 hours late & therefore in a big hurry. Horrible bedside manner. Loud & boisterous. 'God' complex. Was not even aware of anything to do with me immediately before procedure (which was supposed to be a biopsy) Stated that he was not aware that tumor was in a difficult place to get to & if he could get to it & thought it was needed, he might do a biopsy. My doctor had ORDERED a biopsy. Refused to address my allergies & concerns & was going to use medicines that I had allergies to or could cause death instead of using meds that I knew I could tolerate. Gave me 3 minutes to make up my mind...His way or the highway. I left! Probably saved my life that day, but gave me a death sentence due to cancer. It will probably spread before I can get in to see another doctor & will be too late. His staff is ignorant… about everything but their paperwork & will not return calls or get messages to the appropriate people. I was even asked to sign paperwork allowing hospital equipment salespersons in my operating room and allow them to either use equipment on me or allow the doctor to use unfamiliar equipment on me. I am not a guinea pig! I am not surprised, however as he is on the board at the hospital. Probably a money making deal.

One of the Good Old Boys of the Sumter Health Care Doctors. Very Out of Date and incompetant. They have a wing of the Sumter Cementary named for this practioner. Stay Away!!
