Dr. Charles R. Whitfill, MD

My son has been seeing Dr Whitfill for several years now. It isn't an easy job - dealing with little kids who often act up, while trying to keep on a tight schedule so that everyone waiting isn't delayed. He's a no nonsense guy - tells it like it is and is going to try to get in and get out. He's very knowledgeable and has done a great job treating my son over the years.

Dr. Whitfill has been very kind and thorough throughout our 5 year old daughters experience these past couple years. He never leaves a question unanswered and has great bedside manner with both parents and children. He freely offers outside resources to provide parents adequate understanding. Our daughter just had surgery and we are very pleased with what was communicated to us prior to surgery and the outcome. We are happy with the level of care we have received from Dr. Whitfill!

Great repoire with kids, even non verbal younger ones. Addressed all concerns and worries with both daughters, and found issues I was unaware of and answered all my questions.

That feeling when you hear...it's a Medicaid day....on the other side of the door while waiting on a "professional " to come see your child with deficits. The child that is legally blind that by no means was the child's fault they have Medicaid. With that in mind..is our child receiving the best care possible or are they just a dollar to be made. Knowing We as a tax payer pay for millions of dollars worth of Medicaid....Why to try and be firm with a non verbal 4yr old because they are wiggling around and are about to melt down. I am disappointed In the "professionals " we trust for the health and well being of our child that is being treated with no compassion when they are clearly uncomfortable. This is unexceptable. We need more so called "professionals" out there that can communicate with people in a humanitarian fashion. I understand needing to get on with the exam but rushing and clearly putting off vibes that are negative do not help the child or the parents. Trust us. We live… 24/7 with our children and with a non verbal child life is rough. Please be patient with our children and take time for the parents that have fears and concerns for their childs wellbeing .

Terrible terrible bedside manner. I cannot stand him and neither can my special needs child. The staff has yelled at my kid for being loud when he can't help it. Very disappointing.

As a kid's eye doctor, I would think he has one of the toughest jobs out there. He has to not only try to take care of the patient, but also the patient's parents. And sometimes his patients are crying the whole time! I have taken my son to see Dr. Whitfill many times, and you can hear babies always crying. He has always been straight forward with us (no sugar coating, which is what we prefer), and he is obviously very knowledgable as my son has a rare condition. Being in the medical field, an RN, and having a son seeing this doctor, I would recommend Dr. Whitfill to anyone!!

My son is having eye pain and pupil dilation. He has Dave epilepsy and increase seizure in sunlight. Twaited 2 hrs to and this man spent 5 minutes with us and told me he didn't "believe" anything was wrong. Then told it was allergies probably causing the pain. Find some one else!

He was very rude with me on more then one occasion.

Doctor was very child friendly and made us feel very comfortable during the exam. Staff was wonderful and explained the exam process very well. Spent time explaining diagnosis and treatment options and had a chance to ask questions. Overall a good experience.

Doctor was very courteous and friendly. He explained my child's condition in detail and provided educational materials that were very helpful. Staff was very friendly and comfortable with children which was nice. Appointment was lengthy but thorough and office called to follow up when I called with a question.
