Dr. Charlotte Murphy, MD

I don't understand how She calls her self a doctor. Forgets to send in my scripts and then makes you feel like a huge inconvenience just to try and get what you pay for, not sure what I paid 100 bucks for other then the medication, she had the easiest 100 bucks to make. All she had to do was send in my prescription once a month, and I mean it she couldn't even do that. I never had office. visits so what exactly did I pay for? I'd tell her days in advance my script is due for a refill she's somehow telling me I'm wrong lol she's legit out of touch with reality on many of her opinions.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Murphy for one year. She spends one hour plus with me per visit. My previous doctor ran an assembly line clinic. Dr. Murphy takes her time and attempts to discover the underlying causes of my condition. Dr. Murphy has been extremely helpful with my sleep disorder. I am now titrating off my medication. I’m fortunate and greatfull to have found her.

We made a change to one of my long term medication and you have to monitor when weening off of certain. Medications as we all know. Upon a few days cutting my dosage I had concerns over current horrible side effects that I know were from the decrease since I confirmed it with another doctor. I called Dr Murphy to see how to address the change and bad side effects. She said it was in my head basically and that we would need to schedule an appointment to discuss it. Or go to the ER. She couldn't be bothered over the phone. Rather than ease my mind and maybe give me other options again, I was basically told ...deal with the side effects or go to the ER or wait until I see her in person . I took it upon myself to return. To my original dosage and it relieved some of my symptoms. Its the Doctors job to make that kind of decision not mine. I am looking for a new psychiatrist because she is not very polite either.

If you can call her a doctor she is a poor excuse and is either obtuse or easily persuaded to provide evaluations about individuals to benefit the companies she works for rather than actual truth and facts ! I would not see or recommend her for an evaluation of a dog, much less a real human being !!

Had my first session with Dr Murphy yesterday and she was wonderful. She was so kind, friendly and knowledgeable. She provided me with answers to all of my questions and made me feel at ease. I highly recommend her as a Psychiatrist.

I called Dr. Murphy looking for help with severe depression and she was more concerned about getting money than helping patients. When she said she didn't take my insurance and went off on a tirade about how they "don't pay" I interrupted to tell her fine thanks for your time and she hung up the phone. Highly unprofessional.

A friend of mine had called to see if they could make an appointment as she is the only "so called" Doctor that takes NYSHIP. After initially returning the call, my friend was treated as though she was a drug addict and told her prices for SUBOXONE also told that she does not take Medicaid which is COMPLETELY irrelevant since she does not HAVE Medicaid. Upon the call back, it went like this; She gets all nasty about how she won't accept NYSHIP because "they don't pay" and she "still hasn't gotten" her money. The patients have to suffer and she then says to contact the insurance and tell them to pay their claims, and then hung up. THIS IS HOW SHE TREATS SOMEONE WITH DEPRESSION LOOKING FOR HELP. SHE IS NO DOCTOR!!!!!! SHE DOES NOT WANT TO HELP ANYONE! Not ONCE was some kind of resolution offered or discussed. The ENTIRE conversation was completely degrading and demeaning and she should have her license to practice revoked! DO NOT TRUST THIS SO CALLED DOCTOR!

Personally, Dr. Murphy was a God send. I came to Dr. Murphy after working with 6 other psychiatrists to address severe sleep issues. The sleep issues were brought on by anxiety when I was facing infertility issues and trying to get pregnant using a number of egg donors. Dr. Murphy unlike every other psychiatrist I was treated by took my agenda of trying to address my sleep issues while also trying to get pregnant very seriously. She came up with a treatment plan that was effective to address my sleep and anxiety while being mindful of avoiding any harm to my attempts at pregnancy and in the end to my unborn and then nursing infant. Unlike most of the other psychiatrists, she listened intently to the challenges at hand, was never dismissive and always supportive. She made such a difference in my life that I have mentioned her many many a time to anybody who has listened to me recount the tale of how my sleep issues came on after the news of my facing perimenopause while I was trying to… become pregnant and the saga that followed.

I was a patient of Dr. Murphy for three years and she was the best. NYC need more Dr's like her. She's the best.

She listened to me and took time to understand my situation. I felt comfortable and able to talk about my problems. She prescribed medication that helped me feel better. I am glad I found her and got the help I needed.
