Dr. Charlsie Khalisha Celestine, MD

When choosing a physician to assist with pregnancy we went to DR. Celestine Charlsie because her office was close to us and scheduling is not bad. Well we definitely will pay for going for convenience over quality. My husband never trusted me being in her care, but I’ve always been neutral. He has told me multiple times to drop her but I did not listen. During this pregnancy I was dealing with a condition that strongly affects the body, makes me sleep deprived, tired, and worst of all constant physical discomfort. Since the beginning we let Dr. Celestine Charlsie know, the medicine for the contain is a category C because of limited studies for pregnancy and gets safer in second trimester. We told her we are ok with any risk and would just like to be cured, sign a disclosure, whatever can help stop the suffering. Instead we were recommended to a DO, ID doc, Dermatologist, Gastrologist. These doctors said that the OBGYN should prescribe it for us because she is the only one able to due… to pregnancy, some even mentioned how she is just trying to push it off on them. After about four months of misery and worsening condition my husband called and pleaded for them to test Bile levels and was not getting anywhere. We were completely done, I had planned a termination of my pregnancy. We were never told about ICP which is a semi rare disease that only affects pregnant women which we thankfully had another doctor test for. We got a letter from Dr. Celestine Charlsie office informing me that Dr. Celestine Charlsie / Women's health specialist of Centrastate will no longer provide treatment. So as you read this review and the other majority one star reviews, please do not disregard them like I did originally. When dealing with someone who you are putting your life and unborn life hands in there is no room for benefit of doubt for convenience. Take time and research to find a compassionate and well informed OBGYN, it makes all the difference.

I usually do not leave comments but after seeing the negative comments I figured Dr. Celestine needed to be shown in a different light. First of all, I am a healthcare worker with over ten years of experience. I have worked with and for some of the most prestigious doctors in Central New Jersey. I have seen doctors show little to no concern or respect for patients. Dr. Celestine does not fall in to that category. As a matter of fact. I met Dr. Celestine when I was in dire need of a gynecological exam and my normal physician was out. I took the appointment hoping I would not be disappointed. To my delight, I was not. I was so impressed with Dr. Celestine’s knowledge, time spent, and assurance that I dropped my current physician and followed Dr. Celestine to her new practice; which by the way is out of the way for me. I do not go out of my way or out of my town of Princeton for mediocre care, I can say that much. I also noted that in the comments a patient complained about Dr. Celestine… being late. As long as I have been in healthcare this complaint still baffles me. It is beyond me that patients think the only thing their physicians do is SEE THEM. Doctors are rounding at hospitals, attending to more severe cases, dictating, doing the utmost to ensure each patient is getting the care they deserve! It is the the job of the patient alone to make sure they schedule enough time around their visit to ensure if the Dr. is a little behind it causes them little, to no issues! Now, if it is a consistent issue - that is different and maybe consideration for a new physician/practice is necessary. However, I have never experienced longer than a 15-20 minute wait to see Dr. Celestine. I also noted one woman complaining Dr. Celestine does not like children in the room. That is HER preference and with GOOD REASON. I work with a physician who rescheduled a patient for the end of the day when she would be able to leave her child with her husband and come back alone. Some may not like that but it allows the doctor to focus on YOU and only YOU without distractions! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had doctors explain the stress it was to examine a patient and give their full on attention with a crying baby, or young child running around the room! Be considerate, just as you are expecting the same consideration. And more so, be smart! Align your appointments when you do have that extra help, or care. If it is not possible, then do your due diligence and discuss with the staff if that would be an issue for the doctor to bring your child. If it is, maybe you need to select another physician as not to waste your time or their time either! Honestly, I have seen a lot in these ten years and patients are becoming less rational for the people there to help them the most, it disgusts me honestly. Anywho, Dr. Celestine is phenomenal and I wish her the best in her future endeavors and hope she runs across less irrational patients :)

A while back, I went in for a routine check up as well as to discuss some concerns I had. I was a new patient, so we had no prior knowledge of each other. I arrived to my appointment on time, but the doctor arrived very late and seemed eager to get my appointment over quickly. On top of that, once I started going over my concerns with her, her expressions and comments came off as belittling. I know she had stopped listening to me at some point because she went into a whole monologue on options for birth control that I did not ask for, and she wrote in my chart that I had no complaints regarding my health when I very clearly did. Overall, the experience left me feeling looked down upon and unheard. The reason I am leaving this review now after a couple of months have passed is because that feeling still bothers me.

I no longer wanted the shot. She then stared at me, asking if I was sure, till I said ok to get another one. She also doesnt check for anything else if shes made up her mind on what it is. EVEN after it wasn't that.
