Dr. Chaut N Kovach, MD

Because of where my wife's doctor was located, we were always assigned Dr. Kovach anytime my wife was admitted to the hospital. Dr. Kovach seemed more capable when she first started with us but I guess she got tired of caring for my wife and kept trying to get me to sign a DNR . Dr. Kovach never got tired of billing Medicare and our supplemental insurance though. Dr. Kovach seemed emotionless and didn't really care about her patients in my view. She was always very businesslike with no caring or emotion in view. She acted like she had no clue what I was going through as a spouse watching my wife's condition go downhill. When it was time for my wife to be released from the hospital and go to rehab, she called and told me where she was going instead of giving me options. As it turned out, Family Heath and Rehab was the worst place she could have been sent for rehab last Spring. Even though family members were not allowed to visit except through a window, staff members were bringing in… infections and viruses from outside and were not taking proper precautions. After my wife was there several weeks with no improvement, I finally convinced the doctor serving the Rehab that my wife needed to be admitted back into the hospital. Guess who ended up treating her again? Dr. Kovach. After several days, I asked specifically to have another doctor treat my wife and was surprised how difficult that turned out to be but I finally got it done in time to see my wife die a day or two later. I will not recommend either Dr. Kovach or Family Health and Rehab to anyone for any reason. Don't learn this lesson the way I had to, by losing my spouse.

I ended up in the hospital with what appears to be bad reaction to IV antibiotics. Dr. Kovach, wanting to be certain nothing else could be causing high creatinine levels, ordered several tests to rule out any other cause. So far, things are looking like an antibiotic reaction is the cause of my hospitalization. As I understand it, this kind of reaction is rare. Dr. Kovach explained the tests she ordered, and I am lucky to have a doctor who I have complete faith in. I know her utmost concern is making sure what caused the high creatinine levels. She will not release me until the levels are trending down and all tests are clear. I highly recommend Dr. Kovach — she’s rare and wonderful.

Dr. Kovach was very re-assuring and calmed me down by providing a 'take charge' presence when I first came into the ICU. She is a wonderful and caring doctor.

Dr.kovach found a mass on my pancreas no others did

Talked my brother and sister into putting my mother in hospice in secret. She had never seen or examined her. Then did a two minute quick look and had me come in with my siblings. Dr. Kovach and my siblings then acted like they had never talked before, although I have proof they did. The next day, my mom was better (as I knew she would be), checked herself out of hospice, and lived two fairly good years. This caused an irreparable rift in my family and my mother went through a lot of emotional pain. A doctor should not make these decisions without ever examining the patient, and then lie about it. I have no respect for this woman and would leave the hospital rather than let her touch me. My mother would have died in hospice without her heart medicine.
