She is caring and professional yet no nonsense! Very thorough and accommodating. I love her!

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Mys. After my primary physician of 30 years retired, I bounced around from dr. to dr. for about 3 years until I found Dr. Mys and I am so grateful I did! She really LISTENS to her patients, has a no nonsense approach (which I 100% appreciate) and she always makes me feel comfortable. She explains everything and offers ample opportunity for me to ask questions. The staff are always pleasant and cheerful too, which makes the whole experience a positive one. I would HIGHLY recommend her if you are looking for a caring, knowledgeable, and experienced physician

My dad had the misfortune of being assigned Dr. Mys in the hospital after having a minor stroke. The first thing she said to him when she came into the room is, "Why are you even here? You shouldn't be here." The first day she took him off medications that he had been on for over 20 years for a condition that his family doctor and specialist had him on. She was so rude, and her language was horrible. My dad's nurse called me back to the hospital after I had left to come home to get cleaned up and told me to get back up there because she was planning on releasing him that day just two days after his stroke and the nurses knew that he was in no condition to come home yet. I fired her promptly when I got back to the hospital. She then dared to call my cell phone and argue with me about firing her. I had the nurses listen in on the call, so I had proof of all she was saying to me. The new doctors in charge of his case ended up keeping him there for over another week before releasing him.… Jump ahead a year and a half later, and my mom was also assigned Dr. Mys after she went into congestive heart failure. Since we are going through Covid, my sister and I, who are my mom's full-time caregivers, stayed away from the hospital to be safe. Had I known that Dr. Mys was her doctor, I would have fired her the very first day. My 86 year old mom has four specialists who work in conjunction with her care and have her medications just right for the issues that she has. Having never treated my mom before, she took her off two medications that her doctors have had her on for a long time and another medication for her restless leg syndrome. She took her off them without telling my mom nor any of the family members. This wasn't my mom's first bout of CHF and no other doctors at Genesys have ever 'played' around with her medications other than what she needed to get the fluid off her heart when she was in there 'unless' it was approved first by her heart and kidney doctors especially. Yet that seems to be the first thing she does when seeing new patients in the hospital is change or remove medications that their regular doctors have prescribed to them without knowing their long-term medical history. She doesn't even ask any questions as to why they are on the medication! Just removes or changes it! When my mom got home, she told me how she had such trouble sleeping in the hospital and how her legs were so jumpy the last couple of nights. I then read in her paperwork that she had been taken off two of her nighttime medications. I don't know if it just makes Mys feel important or 'God-like' to go in and start changing medications after months and months of specialists working on getting them just right or what her deal is. She also, just like with my dad, tried to release my mom too soon even after my mom told her that she didn't feel well enough to be released yet. She was still having issues breathing and was unable to even stand on her own yet. I was told that "My mother could walk, but that she just refused to." I live with her, and I know what happens after she has a CHF episode. There is no refusal in the equation. I've had to call the ambulance enough times and lift her enough to know when she can and when she cannot walk! It takes several days before she can even stand on her own after CHF. And she was on a 2-assist help when the doctor was trying to release her. Mys requested a PT evaluation to be admitted into the PT wing of Genesys. Unfortunately, she requested for just several hours after mom had a breathing episode, which leaves her extremely weak for an entire day, so of course, she was too weak to pass the evaluation. She wouldn't have the evaluation repeated. We had to file an appeal to keep her in the hospital a few more days to regain some of her strength. She lied and told my mom (in front of another nurse) that we wanted her sent to a nursing home. That we didn't want her coming home. I told them with the covid cases to rampant in nursing homes that I didn't want my mom sent to any off-site facility. And the day she was released, Mys told her that her daughters said they might not even be home when she got there! I moved in with my mom after my dad passed away to take care of her and haven't left the house once during Covid to make sure that my mom won't be exposed to it. My sister goes only goes from her house to ours to help with mom. Why did Dr. Mys even begin to think it was okay to tell my mom such lies!? She is not a doctor who cares; she is a bureaucratic, control freak. If you are going to go through medical school to become a doctor yet ignore the Hippocratic oath you take, then it's time you get out of medicine and find another profession more suited to your personality. In my honest opinion, I would keep your family members away from this doctor, especially if you have an elderly parent in the hospital. If you choose to keep her, I would question everything she does and confirm it with any specialists they may be seeing. I've heard from countless nurses and other healthcare professionals that many people complain about her bedside manner and how she treats patients and their families. Do yourself and your family members a favor and request another doctor!

I have been a patient of Dr. Mys for almost 10 years. She has taken me through being the sole caregiver of my husband with Alzheimers and his death. She has also taken me through several medical problems and we are continuing to work on some of them. She is compassionate and caring. When my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimers she found and got me set up in a support group. They were much more helpful and caring than taking tranquilizers! She is now working on my blood pressure. Did not start me on pills first but suggested lifestyle changes and weight loss. I am seeing the numbers go down and hoping that she has bought me several more years before I have to start medication. Would recommend Dr. Mys to anyone looking for a doctor.

I remember always hearing about Dr. Mys and what a great Dr she was. That must’ve been years ago! I was a patient of her’s for several years because I had heart how good she was. Every time I asked her to do an X-ray of my knees she denied me saying I just needed to lose weight. Every time I asked her to check me for rheumatoid arthritis (because my mom and sisters had it) her answer was “if you had it, I’d know it, we don’t need a rest. I then talked to some friends of mine who used to go to her, and their experience was horrible, so I decided to switch. So now, I’m 52 years old, finally got the knee x-rays done and my new dr sent me to an orthopedic dr who says my knees are in terrible shape! I also had the simple blood test taken for rheumatoid and it’s positive that I have it - in addition I’m anemic to boot which can also be caused by rheumatoid. My advise, if you want to be healthy, don’t go to this dr. She’s also very rude to her patients and treats them as if they don’t have a… right to question her.

I had read all the derogatory reviews and decided to form my own opinion regarding Dr. Mys. I have stayed with her for several years with no regrets. She is thorough, caring and does tell it like it is. She advocates lifestyle changes when appropriate and does not overly prescribe meds. If you are looking for a pill pusher, do not go to her. Those of you writing these very inaccurate reviews on behalf of her vindictive ex husband, redirect your energy to volunteer service.

Dr. Mys. has been my doctor for a lot of years. Do I like her? Absolutely not. So many of the reviews are true, she is rude, talks over you, always late, always in a hurry, is not at all discreet when talking about patients and their illnesses or her life, hardly makes eye contact with you while typing on her lap top. She seems way way over whelmed. For some reason it seems like she cannot keep employees. I do not like going to her at all and usually only go if I have to. Everyone tells me FIND A NEW DOCTOR, but it is not that easy. I think she is a good doctor, just not a good friendly person AT ALL!! Even though I have gone to her for years, she don't know who I am or probably anything about me until she looks at her lap top! I would love to find a new doctor!

I admit that Dr. Mys is not your average doctor. Dr. Mys cares deeply about her patients. She has not only been a good doctor but she gives straight, good and firm advice. My mother has been near death. Dr. Mys has been the instrument God used, to help get my mom back to a better living condition. She’s told nurses, nurse aides, ect. to “treat her like you would treat your mother”, when she saw them mistreating my mom. Dr. Mys is a straight shooter and doesn’t mind telling you the truth, whether you like it or not, because she cares about you as a patient. Thank you for all you’ve done to help our family!

I have never in my entire life been spoken to as rudely and condescendingly as this woman has. Every word out of her mouth is condescending and rude, she speaks over you and talks to you like you are literally the dumbest human being she has ever met. She doesn't know the meaning of being on time; she is never less than an hour late to an appointment, and she comes rushing in, looking frazzled and distracted. She will blow off your concerns because she knows better than you how you're feeling. She knows absolutely everything, apparently, because if you just so happen to voice an opinion or state how you're feeling she will talk over you and shut you down. She is heartless, compassionless, and flat-out mean. Dismissive and rude beyond words. She will straight-up argue with you about how you're feeling. I cannot warn you away from this woman hard enough. If you want to be treated like absolute garbage then by all means go see this cow. She seriously acts like she's a few cards short of a… deck and should not be practicing medicine.
