Dr. Cherie L Elfenbein, MD

I hope this doctor is no longer practicing. She couldn't keep track of my medications or my health conditions. She kept mixing things up. Bottom line: she's not interested in helping. She's interested in money first and foremost. Very obvious from how she asked for money upfront, even when she cut our appointments short.

I saw Dr. Elfenbein for 2 years, and i can truly say i would not be in the state of health and mental health i am now without her. Her integrative approach was key to my care, the time she took with me was invaluable. she was caring, kind, and offered sage guidance and support in addressing the depression i experienced. more importantly, she did what few psychiatrists are equipped to do- helped me successfully come off of the medication, with a minimum of difficulty. I would whole-heartedly encourage anyone to seek her out- she is a true partner and expert in her field.

I first started seeing Dr. Elfenbein 3 years ago when I was suffering from a terrible postpartum depression. I was very anxious and could not enjoy being a mother. I have suffered with severe depression most of my adult life. Thanks to Dr. Elfenbein, today my periods of depression are few and far between. My medication was lowered over time and she helped me to take better care of myself: I’ve changed my diet and started to exercise and do yoga. I am enjoying my family and I am working again. I feel better than I have ever felt and am I am very grateful to Dr. Elfenbein for taking such good care of me and teaching me to take care of myself. She is caring and brilliant and I recommend her wholeheartedly!

At first she seemed caring and we agreed to look at root cause of my anxiety, depression and insomnia. We also had a firm agreement that she would not switch me off the meds I came to her with without me being comfortable and feeling good. I was invited to text her if there were issues but the few times I reached out by text, she would call me and remind me that she was doing me a favor and "talking to me for free." One time I texted, she didn't know who I was and told me I had no appointments. She also did not fill prescriptions fully between 30-day spaced visits. When I texted to let her know that I didn't have enough meds to make it to the next visit, she insisted that I come in and pay for another $ession before a refill. She also refused to refill a prescriptions I came to her with which was our initial agreement. Time for a new Doctor... stay away

Dr. Elfenbein possesses the unusual combination of being insightful and intelligent and also warm and compassionate. She combines her medical knowledge with a holistic approach. I recommend her highly!

Waste of time and money! All she cares is the money and not about helping patients.

I went to Dr. Elfenbein after a few years of suffering from anxiety, depression, and lack of focus that took me from being a confident, happy, and successful person to feeling insecure, miserable, full of self doubt and, at times, nearly incapacitated. Neither my internist or OB/GYN--both whom I trust and have been seeing for years--recognized these symptoms as being menopause related, likely due to the fact that my other symptoms of menopause were quite mild. In addition to being highly compassionate, Dr. Elfenbein quickly identified what was causing me all this grief (her conclusions were validated by blood work) and prescribed a combination of medication and vitamins that made me feel better immediately. We're now working with my other doctors to work on additional treatments that will bring me back to my normal self. I am beyond relieved to know that I'm not going crazy and that I can be treated easily with minimal side effects or risk.
