Dr. Cherise Ann Irby, MD

Dr Irby herself and her office needs to have better communication skills. I have called multiple times to see what time appointment is but unable to talk to even a receptionist. I have also tried to have Dr Irby call me back on a certain matter about my Mother(the patient)and nothing but silence. My mother has never gotten along with her and not sure why she has stayed. I do not recommend her at all. It is hard to know how knowledgeable she is because she doesn't respond to questions.

90 yo male; Referred to this Dr. by my retiring physician. 1st appointment, was handed a multi-page, fine print document to complete, I asked if they had received my records from old dr.. . “Yeah, but it’s up in the attic”. OK? 45 min. Later, Dr enters room, calls me by wrong name. Wrong chart. Proceeded to change 3 of the meds with no explanation as to why, and said she would not continue writing prescription for pain med (for 10 yr history chronic knee & back pain) & gave no instruction on how/where to get prescription, as she backed out of room. When I had to call her back for clarification on 2 of the new meds & pain med, she called back 3 days later. Thank God for a neighbor who helped me w/ meds and getting referral to pain management. Will NOT be back; life is too short for drs with no pt skills or compassion & rude office staff; made appt with new Dr.. Of note, the lab technician, a very kind & competent black woman, was the only human being in that office that smiled.

Zero compassion! She was the rudest and most condescending doctor I ever encountered the full four months that I was in the hospital. She did not even want to answer my wife’s questions when she was my advocate— I was sedated and half the time did not know what was happening. I feel bad for those who don’t have an advocate who have to deal with this doctor because she is uncaring and pompous! I would not let her see my pets!!

I have been seeing Dr. Irby for about two years now. I haven't had any issues with her. She's attentive and works with me on a plan for my health. I can call anytime to speak to her nurse. Overall I am satisfied with her as my main physician.

It’s amazing to me that be this doctor can still practice medicine based on these reviews. I have been a long time patient of Dr. Irby. Yes, I have seen the reviews, but personally her abrupt attitude never really bothered me. I did wish she would spend a little more time, but I was not there to make a friend after all, just wanted to be treated. Until recently my experience with her changed. She literally had no idea what to prescribe me and basically just said there was nothing she could do. Offered no explanation and just sent me on my way. I still had to pay for the full visit. I’m not one to ever comment on someone who owns a business because everyone needs a job. But this doctor needs to be REPORTED. Should have listened to the reviews and stayed away.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Irby. I’ve been having a problem with lots of blood in my urine. And lots of pain. Which she does nothing about. The other day her nurse called me and said she can’t figure out what’s going on. So there’s nothing she can do. She quit!

I had no problems with Dr. Irby or her staff. If I hadn't moved, she would still be my physician.

I would never see this doctor again, nor recommend her to anyone. She is the most unprofessional doctor (if you can call her that) that I have ever seen. Breezes into your room for 1 minute or less and then goes out to the nurses station and stops some of your pain medication without ever mentioning it to you and the nursing staff cannot get her to respond in any reasonable amount of time. It is amazing to me that she is still able to practice medicine after the reviews she has received. If I could rate in the minus column I would do so.
