Dr. Cheryl Lynn Ahart, MD

Dr. Ahart was nice enough and somewhat patient with my baby and toddler. She seemed happy to be doing what she was doing, but always seemed rushed. She was our doctor for about 6 months when we first moved to Little Rock. At my son’s 6 month check up, she told me that he could be sleeping through the night. She also showed her disapproval that I would breastfeed my baby to sleep. Luckily, I already had experience successfully breastfeeding my older son and I understood the nutritional makeup of breastmilk including its sleep inducing properties, so I didn’t try to take her advice. I changed doctors to find a pediatrician that would truly support us in our breastfeeding journey. I feel that inserting a personal opinion is not only potentially harmful, it’s also unprofessional. Instead of listening to me and finding out what would best serve our family and my baby’s health, she decided to give her personal opinion and personal experience that wasn’t based on research nor on best… practices for nutrition.

Dr Ahart is very sweet and seems to really enjoy what she does. The staff at this office it what seems to need great improvement. It is very hard to get through on the lines to set an appointment, it takes forever to get a return phone call, they never follow up with the dr's orders. I have waited MONTHS and had to call and call to finally get my children seen for things the doctor thought was needed. I have honestly thought many many time about going to a different clinic.
