Dr. Cheryl Brown Cowles, MD

I saw Dr Cowles for 15 years. She has an excellent bedside manner and has always been an excellent doctor. She will be terribly missed now that she has moved on to Kenya.

I'm a large gal, and had searched for the right doctor for me. I was 8 months preggers when I found Dr. Cowles. I had seen three other doctors before and they all treated me like I was some giant fat slob and wouldn't even touch me. I actually had one ask me to hold my own stomach up so they could do one of the exams where I was lying down. Dr. Cowles not only treated me with respect, but she didn't "see" me as a fat person and for that I'm very grateful. She was extremely helpful when I delivered my son and I'm actually going to see her today to find out if I can get a hysterectomy. I'm glad she is available.

She is awful. She has horrible bedside manner, preformed unneeded procedures that could possibly affect me for the rest of my life. If she gives you any urinary, bladder etc advice, RUN! She is incompetent. Doctors I've seen since are stunned when told her suggestions, and seriously question her knowledge on urinary issues. Do no allow her to do anything related to urinary issues! You've been warned!

I unfortunately had Dr Cowles on call the night that I delivered she not only gave me bad advice on when I should come to the hospital she yelled at me on the phone and wanted to know why I was calling with contractions 3-4 mins apart if it hadn't been an hour. I was not told the hour rule buts its good I didn't follow that and went to the hospital as I would have given birth at home. If you have a choice don't pick this doctor and if you have to go to this practice just keep your fingers crossed she is not on call when you go into labor, or maybe ask for someone else, I wish i would have.
