Dr. Cheryl Loomis, PhD

Judging from the reviews and hearing about how other patients have received cold and conflicting advice, we will not be using her for marriage counseling. One of the reviews stated she told this persons husband to run away as fast as he could from her. Nobody needs a therapist who has reviews on losing many jobs and not giving sounds advice while having court systems say don’t use her, as noted in the reviews below.

Dr. Loomis is professional she answered thoughtfully and thoroughly and asked questions on things I never thought about and is very knowledgeable on how to cope with any struggle. I would recommend her and am grateful for the guidance she has provided.

Only had two appointments with Dr. Loomis, as I had to cancel our 3rd appointment two weeks ago due to an emergency. I left a voicemail message apologizing and leaving my name and number to call me back to reschedule our next appointment, then I called again a week later. Still nothing. I'm honestly not completely heartbroken because Dr. Loomis' demeanor was extremely cold and off-putting during the two appointments we did have. Oh, and the cherry on top...during our last appointment, I told her how my last therapist had ghosted me, and she went on a mini rant about how "unprofessional" that was but then proceeded to do the same thing.

Dr. Loomis is very patient, and listens well to everything I need to talk with her about. She remains professional and tries to keep me on the right path, at my worst of times.

After attending several sessions with Dr Loomis we discovered that she had in fact been terminated from several NYS agencies for malpractice and misconduct. Dr Loomis was conflicting in her sessions with myself and my husband. While helping us work on our marriage in a one on one session she told my husband to “run as fast as you can and don’t look back”. I would not recommend her to anyone looking for assistance.

Cheryl loomis gave conflicting advice individually to my family and made matters very difficult when my child went to her for help. She completely misdiagnosed her and gave her illegal advice which got her into trouble with her mental health case managers. And then sent my family to a collection agency for bills that were paid. I’m thankful I keep records of my payments. My daughter and family received much better help once the court highly advised that we never go to her again
