Dr. Ma Cheryl Angeline Sarmiento, MD

If I could give zero stars I would, but since this won't let me post without giving a star I gave one. I saw Dr. Sarmiento three different times. The first was for a physical. She performed the basic physical and since I was healthy other than being slightly overweight she spent more time giving me her sales pitch for the weight-loss product and system that her practice had actually created than she did performing my physical. I still assumed she was an okay doctor, so I talked my elderly mother into giving her a try. My mother has had severe asthma since she was in her fortys, having potentially deadly attacks several times. Dr. Sarmiento listened to my mother's breathing through her stethoscope and told my mother, a woman who had never smoked in her life, that she had COPD. Shortly after that her pulmonologist informed her she does not have COPD. My second visit with Dr. Sarmiento she was distracted and rushed. At one point she'd said she would renew my Zoloft prescription.… When she said goodbye and walked out I had to stop her and ask about her renewing my medicine. My third visit was to have her check a pain I'd been having for three weeks in my left lower abdomen, assuming it might be an ovarian cyst. Dr. Sarmiento performed a pelvic exam. Once finished she began telling me how everything seemed fine, so I specifically asked her about my ovary, and she said, "Oh, I'll check that." and had to reperform the pelvic! Then she said my ovary felt normal. So I asked her what, then, was causing my pain? She said she didn't know. No further comment. When I asked what I should do about it she said she'd schedule me for an ultrasound. Then the appointment wrapped up and she never scheduled the ultrasound. I ended up in the ER. Turns out I had diverticulitis. My best friend also saw Dr. Sarmiento and was very displeased. I've never been back to see her. She isn't a good physician.

Dr Cheryl Sarmiento and her staff at Doctors for Life are excellent. She has seen me through general doctors visits as well as coached me with my diabetic needs. Dr. Sarmiento has called me at home to check on me after a major surgery. The entire staff is caring and well up to date on all medical issues.

Dr Sarmiento was very pleasant and quite informative during my visit today. It is obvious to me that she has enormous passion for weight loss done the right way and catered for me. No cookie cutter approach here??

She will drum up a lot of tests, bleed you dry of money and drop you like a hot potato! Worst doctor in Greenville!

Dr. is very caring and listens. to what you have to say, answers all your question.

I just felt dr. Sarmiento rushed my appointment and didn't do a thorough exam or listen to me

She was okay at best. Nonchalant and disconnected when speaking to her patients. She does type a lot on her laptop and ignores the patient while doing so. I guess she can't multi-task and look and speak to the patient as she types. Typical get in get out Dr. Here's what you've got here are the results and out the door she goes. She reminds me of that old joke. What's the difference between God and a doctor? God doesn't think he's a doctor. There's a lot better doctor offices in Greenville. I will only get better if I get in a pinch or a bind

too occupied with her computer thus not being one on one with patient. I try not to talk to her for fear I will break her train of thought at the computer. rarely will compliment you on improving your health, i.e.lab reports, etc.

Disappointed in Dr Sarmiento for lack of attention to detail. Went to her a half dozen times and she never got my diagnoses correct. Switched doctors to a P.A. Physicians Assistant and was probably diagnosed and successfully treated after 1st visit. Obviously not returning to Dr Sarmiento
