Dr. Cheryl A. Torghele-Eresuma, OD

Cheryl Torghele-Eresuma, OD, is an optometrist at Intermountain Health’s Salt Lake Clinic, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She supports patients in Salt Lake City, North Salt Lake, Sugar House, and surrounding communities by fitting contact lenses for children, teens and adults with nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and bifocal needs; providing primary eye care, treating mild forms of glaucoma, dry eye disease, eye infections, and more. She is passionate about getting to know her patients so she can help them find the best vision requirements for work, sports, and hobbies, and best options along with full scope health assessments of the eyes.

As a provider, she’s excited about the advances of myopia (nearsightedness) management for children, teens, and young adults — especially in a world where increased demands of screen time and near work have created a significant increase in nearsightedness or myopia. New specialty contact lenses have been very successful for …decreasing and/or stabilizing nearsightedness with studies over the past seven years. 

Cheryl is grateful for a career she enjoys and loves getting to know and providing care for her patients. She finds great fulfillment in building relationships with individuals and families, taking the time to understand their unique vision needs and lifestyles.

Outside the clinic, the Ogden, Utah native loves being outdoors — hiking and traveling with family and friends. She is happily married with three daughters (one set of twins), and a darling dog!
