I had my son at St. Joseph in 2014. I was very excited to have my baby here because I thought I was in good hands, but it turned out to be an awful experience. I was induced and never allowed to walk around. They tell you it is not allowed, but watch out, because at other hospital like Kaiser Permanente they allow to walk around with you IV. St. Joseph still needs a lot of progress on their Maternity Section. When I had my son St. Joseph only 1 out of 7 patients that came in have vaginal deliveries and the rest of us C-sections. It is no coincidence! Be aware! Research, they have a high incidence in C-Sections. When I was taken to the operating room to have my C-section, I told the anesthesiologist that I felt when my doctor was doing the incision. He looked upset and gave me an attitude. After telling the anesthesiologist many times what I was feeling, I was put under general anesthesia without me knowing and without my consent. My doctor who I trusted, Dr. Twu did not talk to… me at any moment, and did not intervene on my behalf. I could not believe she did not remember how important it was for a mother to see her baby being born if a patient is telling you she feels pain why do you ignore it? I missed my baby boy's birth and woke up scared because I had no idea what had happened. If you had a C-section here and would like to try a V-BAC (natural delivery after C-section) go to Kaiser Permanente. They are fully prepared and even have midwives. They will listen and honor your birth plan. They will make everything possible for you to have a vaginal delivery if that is what you want. One of the nurses that worked at Providence was sweet and tried everything in her behalf to make my stay bearable at this hospital, but the rest was just a nightmare. The hospital is not what it seems.

My pregnancy was deemed medium risk and I felt very comfortable in Dr. Twu's care. At one point my allergies had gotten so bad she helped me by doing some massage and pressure points on my head. It was a relief and not something you get from a regular OB. Since she's a DO (osteopath) there's more thought to your total well being. I highly recommend her!

Dr Twu is incredible, she was my doctor for over a year before I became pregnant, she then was my OB throughout my pregnancy and delivered my first son. He is now 2 years, and the second is on the way. I wouldn't go to anyone else besides her! Her bedside manner is fantastic, truly kind and understanding, and she is so skilled. She is a wonderful doctor!

Dr. Twu has been my OB for the delivery of two babies over the past 4 years. She is very knowledgeable, spent time answering my questions and both of my babies were born, healthy, happy, perfect weight and on-time through natural birth. What more could I want from an OB?! Her office isn't flashy like some other LA offices, but she's focused on the patient's and unborn baby's health and well-being.

On my very first visit I meet the nurse but I never meet the Doctor. I had to go to another Doctor to get the health care that I needed.
