Dr. Cheryl H. Waters, MD

Dr. Waters is undoubtedly the most arrogant/insensitive doctor I have ever encountered. I had been seeing the doctor whom had been, I believe, the head of the department before he retired. She asserted that the Parkinson's medication he had prescribed for me was basically useless. On an interpersonal basis, she insisted that i lived in a town that i do not, and then she had the audacity to tell me that, presumably because of my field of employment, that i certainly "could afford a driver to take me wherever i needed to go, seven days a week." The bottom line is that Dr Waters should NOT be allowed to interact with patients.

Dr. Waters is probably the worst doctor I’ve been to. She may have the medical skills but she is not able to apply these in a manner that helps the patient…she is rude and disrespectful,. Perhaps she should do research or deal with pharmaceutical ompanies…but she should not see patients.

Dr. Waters has no interest in trying to understand how a patient may feel…..she thinks “she knows it all”. She is rude and inconsiderate and time for her to retire.

Dr Waters is the rudest Dr I have ever encountered. As a nurse myself I was shocked by the way she treated my mother. Not only did she belittle my mom and make her think she was mentally not stable. Dr Waters bluntly came out and said go back to your neurologist I will not treat you. I was under the impression that as a physician you should want and make a positive impact. I did my research and took my mother who has Parkinson’s disease to see her. She lacks the ability to communicate compassionately with her patients. It’s disgraceful that Columbia would allow this physician to work for them. Trust me don’t waste your time look for another neurologist. If I could I would have given zero stars.

My husband and I saw doctor Waters over concerns about symptoms, behaviors, and the connection to Parkinsons Disease. She was very friendly, listened to what we had to say, and examined my husband. She was very kind and caring, and we were able to listen to her dictation about our visit. By doing that, we were able to have confirmation of the conclusions she had drawn. She truly is a compassionate, and talented individual. we feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to speak with her.

As title. also found she got lots of money from pharmaceutical companies from the websites like "dollars for docs"..not a trustable neurologist.

Dr. Waters treated my mother for Parkinson’s disease and missed the signs that she was actually suffering from Lewy Body Dementia. When my mom became alarmed that her symptoms were worsening and her anxiety had become debilitating Dr. Waters told my mom that she was calling her too often. (Mind you this was once every few weeks.) She ultimately switched doctors and my mom passed away about 6 mos. later. No one from Columbia has ever followed up on why a regularly seen patient was suddenly off their radar. Perhaps if Dr. Waters slowed down and gave more time and attention to her patients my mom would not have been misdiagnosed and given medications that worsened the short time she had left. (Medications impact LBD patients differently than “regular” Parkinson’s patients). So pls don’t be impressed by her title and the textbooks she’s authored. She did a real disservice to my mom who only lived to 70.

Dr. Waters has been amazing. My husband has early onset Parkinson's and has been receiving fantastic care from Dr. Waters. He has never felt better. She is on the cutting edge of research and has real time knowledge of up and coming treatments in the Parkinson's community. She is approachable, compassionate and confident ~ all the traits you want in a physician. We couldn't be in better hands & highly recommend!

If i could give her a million stars i would! I truly belief she saved my dad’s life. She knows what she is doing and knows her job inside and out. I would recommend her 100 times over. I’m so thankful for her so, I’m surprised to see any bad reviews. She is amazing!
