Kinda Rude and always after patient's money. Because I asked for invoice for my insurance reimbursement I noticed that she's not interested at all. Not professional and when giving instructions always in a hurry, doesn't care about patient. Go find another doctor. The dietitian and staff in the clinic don't even liked her

An experienced and well read physician

I never wanted to see this doctor & wanted to see Dr.Hawkins. Dr.Makhija was rude to me when I had 1 question. She was in a hurry & did not explain that the meds she was prescribing me had so many side effects & the risk of lowering my immune system. I’m thankful that I never returned to see her. I am now seeing another physician that has helped me tremendously & I’m not on meds.

The ONLY positive to seeing this Dr was, after she finally came in my room to see me, she right away introduced herself, to both my husband & I. She sat down, then insisted on knowing what I was doing there & why I needed to see her (which was why I thought we needed the referral), she proceeded to tell me she did NOT believe I had ANY of my thyroid previously removed (even after I showed her the scar across my neck), she told me she didn't not believe I had a new growth, she could look at me & see there was nothing there. (I've had SEVERAL Ultrasounds/nuclear scans done & the last one a week before I saw her & was sent to her) she then went on to say, EVERY scan I've ever done was wrong. She said I should never of been placed on thyroid hormone replacement. The one correct thing she did tell me was over my last 5 years, I've been suffering thyroid storms" because my Drs were OVER medicating me & that I shouldn't even be on ANY thyroid hormone because for the last 5 years my TSH was… at .01. She said she had to do her own ultra sound to believe anything. Once she started that, she said ok well, your whole right side is NOT there, but the rest of your thyroid is fine, the size is fine & there is absolutely NO GROWTH! (I've also had fine needle aspirations & she said that was NOT of the growth, because I did NOT have a growth, they simply did the FNA of the actual thyroid itself. I did new labs for her the same day, a week & a half later her office called to INCREASE my medication (I had jumped from .01-8, I have Hashimotos). I saw my Primary last week, she read the report from Dr.M and it stated that my remaining thyroid had shrunk in size & I had a growth, that did not seem to look like cancer. My husband & I sat there in total SHOCK! The ONLY reason, I would go back to see this Dr, would be to hear her explanation of why, her report to my Primary was the total OPPOSITE of everything she said to my husband & I. She has the WORST bed side manner, I have EVER encountered with a dr. I was so frazzled, upset & confused..& she left me questioning everything every Dr has told me, every scan, operation I've had in the last 15 years! I KNEW, I should had just waited to see Dr. Hawkins & now I'm Left fearful seeing & hearing what my future Drs tell me...
