Dr. Chih-Chien Wei, DO

while i’m waiting for kaiser to send me a survey, i want to share my experience here. i saw dr wei last night at kaiser urgent care for some excruciating dental pain that im having. im convinced that dr wei was seeing if he could set his personal record for how fast he could get a patient out the door. he didnt spend any time asking me about my pain aside from reiterating what i told the nurses, and when i expressed my concern that ibuprofen and tylenol weren’t helping my pain and that years ago id been given something for nerve pain, he crossed his arms, told me that what they gave me “wouldn’t even help for two weeks”. i’m not sure how it helped me last time then but what do i know? i’m just a patient who’s had that experience, not a doctor. when i tried to ask if there was anything that could help with the nerve pain, he said he was giving me a shot of toradol and a script for doxycycline. when i started to ask another question he cut me off and said “all right, take care.” and… left. no real exam and seemed to want me to just go along with what he said even though he spent no time actually involving me in my care. i’ve never had such poor bedside manner from a provider and it seems that dr wei’s years of experience have made him forget how to actually work with a patient. i wish i could give zero stars, any provider, but especially one in urgent/emergency care should know how to listen to patients.

As a result of removals of the abscess, the wound festered and brought unbearable pain. I turned to emergency after 2 days of sleepless and asking to change my pain relief medication, because the prescribed one did not help at all. The doctor on duty, without even examining me, said to take what was prescribed, and also gave an injection of anesthetic, which did not help. It's composition is not indicated in the report that was given to me after visit. I believe that a doctor who works in an ambulance, especially on a night shift, should be more attentive to patients. No one will come to him at 4 o'clock in the morning if the person does not need help. Especially since I gave up the narcotic pain reliever in favor of any other that could relieve pain. My abscess burst next day and pain was over. When I visit doctor, I was like a new person. If Dr.Chih Chien Wei should made an exam and cut it open my abscess when I met him, my crucial pain would be over that time.
