Dr. Ching-Fong James Chuong, MD

I actually liked Dr. Chuong. The issue I have is that he allows his office manager Christine to disrespect patients. I've never felt so embarrassed or disrespected by a doctors office in my life. I tried to speak with him to inform him of my issue which was a mistake on their part but he would not talk to me. Christine spoke with me and the insurance company representative so disrespectful. She also told me she didn't understand why I wanted to see Dr. Chuong so bad when she only saw that I had only had one appointment within a year. Every time she spoke with me she yelled at me as if I was a child. She will not listen either. I would try and talk to her and she would talk over me and talk in such a disrespectful very loud tone. I don't want to be scolded when I call a doctor's office. I was told by an office staff member that they've received several complaints in regards to Christine's behavior with patients. There's also been a couple of times when I've called in regards to the… mistake their office made to begin with and she would laugh and mock me. She made the comment that I was very popular with my insurance company, I'm assuming because of all the calls. She even told my personal business to a insurance representative that had nothing to do with the reason the insurance representative was calling. Some of the staff when I first went there are no longer there....I see why. I feel like Dr. Chuong allows Christine the office manager to create a disrespectful narrative for the office. If you're not doing IVF, you're not important enough I don't care what the reviews say. No need to be disrespected especially when your spending large amounts of money in this antiquated office. Also, if you want your medical records they don't utilize a portal. They will email your records and not even check to make sure you received them. You have to pay for the records before before they "make copies" of them to email. I don't even like writing negative reviews but I spent months trying to resolve this issue and I even was able to resolve the issue with my insurance company. I went to schedule another appointment and Christine told me she would not schedule me another appointment. I promise you, I've never in my life have felt so disrespected. Beware of people that aren't compassionate to this sensitive issue. Trust me it was good in the beginning and turned into a nightmare. And to add insult to injury, I hate to feel like I'm a bother especially from a doctor's office. Every time I called I became nervous of the reaction I knew I was going to receive on the other end of the phone from the staff. Annie and Desiree were very nice, compassionate and helpful, but they're no longer employed with Dr. Chuong. I would not recommend anyone to this practice even if he was the last fertility/ob-gyn doctor on this earth. Thank you Christine! You actually did me a favor of not allowing me to schedule any appointments (authority of you, Christine). You're the worse most disrespectful staff member at a doctor's office I've ever encountered. And you know it's bad if the staff MEMBER"S "suggest" you to see another doctor because of the treatment received from this office. And I'm not the first to complain, just the first to write it down in a review!!!

I am very grateful to Dr. Chuong and all his staff for the excellent services I have been given at Cooper Institute. Three years ago, due to my history of endometriosis with prior laparoscopic surgery and 3 failed IUI cycles, we went through IVF and had 6 great embryos. Unfortunately my first frozen transfer with one embryo was not successful. I was suggested to have another laparoscopy and Dr. Chuong did find recurrent endometriosis which was removed by laser. When I had my second transfer, I insisted to have two transferred even I was advised to still use one. Guess what, I ended up with TWINS!! The surgery made such a big difference. Now I am heading back to have my third transfer.

Dr. Chuong clearly has been practicing long enough to be so knowledgeable and successful. He has the absolute best bedside manner out there. Antoinette the IVF coordinator is fabulous at what she does and so helpful and kind. The entire office staff is accommodating, considerate, knowledgeable and thorough. Though the process is a little complicated, they made it seem reasonably easy. We have gone through a total of 2 IVF cycles with 2 positive results! We plan to go in for our 3rd and final transfer soon. We lost our first pregnancy 5 months in, but our 2nd transfer produced a healthy bouncing baby boy and our wish is to give him a sibling in the near future. We recommend anyone seeking fertility treatment to put their full trust in Dr. Chuong and his staff.

World class and most wonderful service. I appreciate very much Dr. Chuong's excellent and most dedicated services. He is very knowledgeable, skillful and really considers what the best for the patients. He is the most devoted physician I have ever had in my life. I am grateful to him and his entire team. My dream of building a family finally comes true after unsuccessful IVF treatment twice at two other facilities. I had to drive more than one hour one way to his office, but it was really worth it. Now my daughter is 1 and 1/2 year old, and I am going back to his office again to have my second baby. I highly recommended him to any family and friends without reservation.

I don't know if I can trust this place. There are some red flags when I first came to visit Dr. Chuong. His staff is friendly and professional, but Dr. Chuong, on the other hand, will keep us waiting for almost an hour just to talk for ten minutes. I don't understand why they double book patients and then make us wait so long to be seen. They only do ultrasounds in the morning, so sometimes it's very hard to get in to be seen at the appointed time. It is a small office, and everything looks kind of old fashioned. When you get your blood drawn, the workers there do NOT wear gloves unless you request them to. Is that normal practice? Because that just seems unsanitary. The ultrasound room is also disgustingly DIRTY. The machine looks really old, and it looks like they don't really clean it either. The probe itself is dirty, and I see that they just use an antiseptic spray to clean it.... I've worked in hospitals before, and that is not enough to clean all the germs. I took a closer… look at the probe and it looks like there is dried blood in the cracks. So disgusting. Maybe other patients don't know better, but this is not good practice. Just from looking at the outside, I will NOT be coming back. I rather pay a little more money for a clean place.

This past summer, this doctor did anot outpatient surgery on me and I was close to dying from his negligent. He left me bleeding internally and discharge me home. I was hospitalized and had surgery because of the poor job he did. No one was unable to reach this doctor on his pager or phone. The other doctors was surprised how he is still practicin and encourage me to sue him. Please don't go to him, he seems knowledgeable but obviously doesn't know what his doing. I will never see him even if he is the only doctor left in Houston.

I want to thank Dr. Chuong and his office. After years of not knowing why I wasn't getting pregnant I made the scary decision to speak to a fertility doctor. I chose Dr. Chuong based on a recommendation from another patient. He quickly tested my husband and I and reviewed all options with my husband and me. He took the time to explain his recommendation and the odds of success. He asked a lot of questions about medical and family history. We decided to go with his recommendation and after one round of IVF we were blessed with a successful pregnancy. I am now 7 months pregnant with twin girls, at age 35. We couldn't be more thrilled with the results. Thank you to Antoinette - who was always very helpful in explaining every step of the process. And thank you to Dr. Chuong who personally called to check on me even through the Christmas holiday. Our family is SO excited to meet our little girls!!
