Dr. Chioma Chinwendu Vera Okons

I had a very negative experience with this doctor. The day before my appointment, I had a fever of 100°F, trouble breathing, rattling in my lungs, body aches, chills, extreme fatigue, and a cough disrupting my sleep. I also have a positive ANA test, chronic dry eye, joint pain, and muscle pain. Despite these symptoms, I was told no further testing was needed and my request for an ENA panel and additional autoimmune testing was refused. The doctor relied heavily on a visual assessment and stated she could tell I did not have asthma just by looking at me. After a nurse entered the room, she suddenly agreed to order the same testing she had previously refused. When I questioned why, she had no response. After I challenged her visual assessment, she stated that doctors are human and make mistakes. I responded that this is why testing exists. I ultimately left the appointment because I felt unsafe and that the environment was not appropriate for patient care. I will not be returning.
