Dr. Chista Safajou, MD

Dr. Safajou is a saving grace! Dr. Safajou really listens to my health concerns then runs appropriate tests. Dr. Safajou took the time to gather information from previouse procedures and then conferred with an oncology OBGYN doctor to determine a plan of action. Dr Safajou called me at 8:00 pm after a long day of surgery delivering babies to tell me she ordered a pelvic MRI and I was to make an appointment with the oncologist following the MRI. I am confident and so appreciative of Dr. Safajou to address my healthcare concerns to the best of her ability and refer me to someone when necessary. In addition her staff is always friendly and competent. As an older patient who has had a full hysterectomy and is a breast cancer survivor so far, I am forever grateful for Dr. Safajou!

Dr. Safajou is a true professional and not an alarmist. I just had a total hysterectomy done laparoscopically and because of her great care, I was back to my old self in one week. She prepared me well going into the surgery by communicating clearly and she took time answering any questions that I had. Very impressed!

I won't say what I really think of her and her medical ethics. Just know I have been working in OB/gyn for over 20 years in a Dr,'s office and she really failed my family as a MD! Would never recommend her to no woman especially if your pregnant

Dr.Safajou is a caring and very knowledgeable doctor. She is thorough and took her time with me and explained all the options I could try for HRT. We are lucky to have a doctor of her caliber in our County.

I strongly advise against this practice. Dr. Safajou misses the mark on adequate clinical care. I lost my baby at 27 weeks and had to wait two hours for an epidural because she was not at the hospital. I even had a hospital staff member tell me "this is not the doctor for you" as they were so upset at how much I had to suffer. I called her office three times to ask the status of my baby's autopsy report after 8 weeks had gone by and was told by the receptionist that they didn't have it or it would be in the portal. No one ever returned these calls to get back to me on the status and I come to find out that the doctor received the report 6 weeks prior and failed to contact me. The doctor seemed to think she told me she had it when she called me for emotional support some time after the delivery, which she did not. Furthermore, the maternal fetal medicine doctor who collaborates with her, Dr. Lescale, failed to contact me not one time after my pregnancy loss. Not even a receptionist… could reach out to me even though Dr. Safajou said they would be in touch to review reports and come up with a plan. What a disgrace to clinical practice. Waited on the average 1-5-2 hours for scheduled appts, later learning that she is back and forth to the hospital during the day to deliver babies while patients wait endlessly in her waiting room. I had to wait almost 1 hour undressed in a gown in an exam room with no updates from her staff as to her whereabouts on my first ever visit. One of her nurses blew my veins doing bloodwork, clearly not a skilled phlebotomist. I had bruising and swelling at blood draw sites for two weeks. When I became severely ill with hyperemesis gravidarum, I told the nurses and doctor on several visits how sick I was and that I was bed bound. I called three times for a doctor's note and was told they had been telling the doctor. On my next visit, I asked the doctor directly and she had no idea I requested a doctor's note and also said she did not know I wasn't working. "Nauseous people go to work" she told me, having not recalled nor taken the time to understand how sick I was. I left her office in tears that I had to argue with her in the midst of my pregnancy over how sick I was to get my doctor's note. She also told me that my husband didn't tell her I wasn't working when he contacted her in the middle of the night for guidance on bringing me to the hospital for vomiting and dehydration. When he was on the phone with her, she heard me coughing in the background and said to him, "Is she vomiting or just coughing" as if he had taken the time to call her in the middle of the night, on Christmas, because I was coughing and didn't know the difference between coughing and vomiting. Minimization of issues is a major downfall of this practice, especially for acute conditions. Furthermore, I developed severe back pain in my second trimester. I told the doctor and she said it was normal. I told her I was limping and in a great deal of pain, but she offered zero treatment options. Subsequently, I took myself to a prenatal chiropractor and her later response was, "Who even is this guy? What is he even doing? What is a 'realignment?" Told me I didn't need a chiropractor it was just a muscle issue and to take a muscle relaxer. I still have residual back pain to this day from this issue and have been told it is not a muscular issue, but a joint problem as indicated by the chiropractor and other specialists. It is truly a sad day in the world of healthcare when a practitioner runs her practice this way. I did verbalize these issues to her directly and told her I hoped that they do better for the next woman who suffers through a difficult pregnancy and loss as I did.

It took years to have a child. It was a long time coming and the care I received from Dr. Safajou put me at ease. I was given exceptional care from Dr. Safajou and her team. I felt that she was vested in seeing my pregnancy to term and deliver a healthy baby. I did have issues arise during the pregnancy and I was well informed. Dr. Safajou is very direct but she cares about her patients. I was able to see that through her requests for follow up visits and calls. Kathryn Peck, NP was also excellent. Last thing I want to add, is that it was the greatest comfort to have Dr. Safajou right there by my side when I gave birth. I didn’t have to worry about which doctor was on call. At 3am she was at the hospital right with me!

Waited almost 2 hrs to be seen to get test results while she took everyone whos appt was after mine, BEFORE me! So disrespectful when i had to leave early (unpaid) to be there on time. Then i go in for my appt and she belittled me and offended me. I will never go back to this dr and would recommend that others look elsewhere too!

This doctor is by far the rudest least compassionate doctor I've ever encountered in my life. As if it wasn't bad enough I waited two hours in the waiting room to be seen, she insulted me more than once and refused to listen to my concerns. I would not recommend anyone go to her. I have no idea how people could write such nice things how about her it's like a completely different person then who I saw. I literally left her office in tears because she was so rude and all I was looking for was help. Will not be returning and plan to tell everyone I know not to go to her. If there was a zero-star option I would have chose that.

A great first visit! A pleasant and energetic doctor who listens and explains my options. She didn’t rush and seemed straight forward.

Dr. Safajou is a very caring and smart doctor. I don’t feel rushed during my visits and she takes time to listen to me and answer my questions. She has great bedside manners and I highly recommend her.
