Dr. Chokchai X Chareandee, MD

I am a native of Bangkok, Thailand and graduated from Mahidol University (Doctor of Medicine with Honors) in 1988.
I have been a volunteer faculty of the Department of Medicine, Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin, Madison School of Medicine from October 2002 to March 2007. I was awarded: (1) Fellow of American Society of Nephrology (FASN) in October 2004, (2) Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) in October 2006, and (3) An America's Top Physician 2006 by Consumers' Research Council of America.
I became a nephrologist because I am intrigued with how the kidney interacts with other organs to maintain balance in the human body. Because many of my patients have complex medical concerns and require ongoing care and treatment I am very involved in their medical care and am able to establish long-term trusting relationships with them. My special interests include kidney failure in the critically ill patient, chronic kidney disease management, …hypertension, kidney transplant, kidney disease in heart failure, and kidney dialysis.
I enjoy biking, swimming, theaters, and listening to a variety of music.
