Dr. Christal Anne Hames, MD

Unprofessional, rude, I did not feel she cared about my health at all, she was more concerned about letting me know she is a surgeon and how much she knows. She performed my appendectomy. I felt she only wanted someone to cut on. Terrible bedside manners. I ended up with an infection that she wanted to treat with hydrocortisone cream and Benadryl. Thankfully I got another opinion and received antibiotics and my condition improved. I would never recommend Dr. Hames to anyone.

I had my appendix removed by Dr. Christal Hames at United Regional Hospital. I got an infection and had a lot of pain at one of the incision sites. I called her office and I was told that I couldn't be seen for a day and half later. I went to my primary who put me on an antibiotic. Later that evening I had to be taken to the ER. Had a CT scan and was started on IV antibiotics and Morphine for the pain. By the next day there was a slight improvement in my condition and my labs looked better. Dr. Hames came to see me the next day and said I didn’t have an infection and all I needed was Benadryl and Hydrocortisone cream. No antibiotics. I disagreed with her and asked for another surgeons opinion. Dr. Hames would not leave my room, instead she continued to explain to me that she was a surgeon and why she is right and that all the other doctors were wrong because she is a surgeon and knows. After two more times of asking for another surgeons opinion she finally left my room and said she… would let the nurse know. She is very in professional and rude. I did not feel that she cared one bit about my health at all. Everyone else at United Regional hospital were great. I left the hospital with a diagnosis of Cellulitis. Thankfully the PA and another surgeon came to see me and sent me home with antibiotics and my condition has improved.

She is very opinionunated, not professional, and she needs to go back to school and learn how to treat patients.

My experience with her was nothing short of excellent. She knows what she’s doing and she is good! Has good bedside manner. Do what she tells and it’s all good!
