Summary

Christian Abrahim, MD, values patient relationships and education, always going above and beyond to improve the quality of life and longevity for patients dealing with cardiovascular disease. He specializes in general and interventional cardiology, as well as prevention for people at risk for cardiovascular illness. As an interventionalist, Dr. Abrahim uses minimally invasive procedures to open blockages in the arteries that supply the heart.

Dr. Abrahim treats acute cardiovascular disease in the ER and ICU, and manages chronic cardiovascular illness in the outpatient setting. A believer in the fundamentals of empathy, communication and education, Dr. Abrahim helps people understand the disease process, expectations of care, and situations that may arise.

Growing up in Trinidad and Tobago with a physician father led to Dr. Abrahim’s desire to make a tangible impact in people’s lives. He earned his medical degree from the University of the West Indies after receiving a national scholarship in his home country. He completed an internal medicine residency and chief residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York City, where he was nominated to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, New York Chapter, for his role in educating medical students. At UMass Baystate Medical Center, Dr. Abrahim pursued a cardiovascular disease fellowship, followed by an interventional cardiology fellowship at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey.

He holds American Board of Internal Medicine certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. Other certifications include ECHO (National Board of Echocardiography) and nuclear cardiology (Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology). Dr. Abrahim is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). Ensuring Data Transparency and Trust: A Guide to Vitals Doctor Listings and Reviews

Our provider data is gathered directly from physicians and publicly available databases. Providers who verify their profiles gain the ability to update information, offering additional details about their specialties, education, treated conditions, performed procedures, and accepted insurances.

Reviews on Vitals are submitted by users only. Recognizing the valuable insights these reviews offer into a doctor's reputation, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Importantly, providers cannot delete or alter reviews independently. Reviews can only be deleted or changed following an internal assessment by our customer service team.

Your feedback is highly valued and we encourage you to contact our support team should you encounter any issues.
