Prior to joining Providence, Christian Calaguas, MPH, RD, CDCES worked in community hospitals in New Jersey and Michigan, and at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Delaware. He completed Bachelor's degrees in Biological Sciences and French at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He earned a Master's in Public Health Nutrition at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, where he also completed a Dietetic Internship. He grew up in a multigenerational Filipino American household, where his grandmother was living with diabetes. This inspired him to help others cultivate healthy habits that are realistic and sustainable. His approach to nutrition care is informed by mind-body practices, including mindful eating and yoga. He wants everyone to discover how taking one small step at a time can make a meaningful difference over the long haul.
