Dr. Christian David Lates, MD

He was assigned to me because my doctor left the practice. I have yet to personally meet him, but I already can't stand him! No urgency! The few times I've had to deal with him just to get a prescription filled, that I have taken for over a decade, is a monthly nightmare!! It's a prescription that causes serious side effects when stopped suddenly, yet he doesn't seem to care and refills it at his leisure. Sometimes leaving me to go days without it. Not to mention, based on some of my conversation with him, he's not as knowledgeable about the prescriptions that he's prescribing - not completely knowledgeable on the cause and effect of the medications that he's prescribing. He's arrogant, and I wouldn't trust him. I won't be keeping him as my primary!!

Dr. Lates is a nice enough person, it seems. But in my experience, he was very dismissive of my concerns and just seemed to want to get me out of the room as fast as possible. I had legitimate questions and worries about a chronic issue I've been having, and his immediate solution was to write a prescription without exploring other options. Wouldn't really answer my questions as to what the next steps were if this prescription didn't work (and it didn't, as I thought it wouldn't). He just kept insisting that it would work, and don't worry about it. Well, I'm still worried about it and your holy prescription failed. So what now? I'm definitely looking for another doctor, one who's willing to listen and take time with their patients. Sort of related, not only was there a student observing him (fine, I wasn't stripping down or anything) but there was another woman in the room for really no reason whatsoever (and no, it wasn't the nurse). My problem wasn't too sensitive so I didn't… really mind. But it was still weird and inappropriate.

Dr Christian Lates gave me back my ability to see after numerous hospitals specialists and neurological tests. His rating does NOT reflect his abilities. I recommend him to everyone

I have seen Dr, Lates twice now. The first time was an introduction to him the second was more of a follow up. I can only say that I have had a very positive experience with him as well the office staff. Friendly very happy team of people. Since my last visit he and I had a bit of a talk about my health and I left the office with a positive feeling. I cannot wait to see him in July. I came home with a different approach to my health. I am controlling my blood pressure much better my overall feeling is very positive. Just by having a visit with Dr. Lates has changed my outlook on myself. I thank him and his wonderful staff for this. I wish continued success to him as I feel most fortunate to finally have a physician that I truly like.

He has been my PCP for nearly five years. During one period it seemed like there was excessive waiting time, also patients checking in had to stand at the window in the waiting room and communicate with the receptionist. That has changed. Patients now get to sit at a desk in the hallway when checking in and give the receptionist the necessary information w/o everyone in the office being able to hear it. Wait times to see the doctor have improved. I read the comment about the staff taking vitals incorrectly and Dr.Lates not using the stethoscope, I have never found this to be the case. Dr. Lates has a laid back style, coupled with an amicable bearing, but I have trust in his clinical judgement. He doesn't work Fridays so if you need immediate care that day, you're better off going to one of the two extended care clinics, where no appointment is required if your PCP is with BMG. Co-pays much less than at an Urgent Care Center.

dr. lates has always given me direct eye to eye contact and takes time to answer all my question/concerns......he also is great at helping assign the best scripts for me given my medical coverage.......and I think his office is great when I need a immediate visit, they ALWAYS accommodate me. I appreciate that.......and I like that you can do your blood work/draw right there at his office. Dr. Lates is by far the best primary doctor I've ever had.........plus overall great guy

Unlike so any MDs he has a relaxed cordial demeanor and does not come across as arrogant or condescending. He always has the computerized history of the patient on the screen when he is examining you. He is employed by Buffalo Medical Group, a large practice, and the patient has access to lab test results via their personal computer, no need to ask for copies. I have confidence in his medical judgement as a PCP, and willingness to recommend a specialist when necessary.

Have waited almost an hour to see Doctor. Takes personal cell calls during visit. Does not listen to you and and your needs. Does not seem to be genuine in his care.Exam room walls are like paper, overheard the entire conversation of the previous patient (E.D.)discussion

i would highly recommend Dr. Lates. Knowledgable, friendly, intelligent, prompt, are immediate traits i see in this doctor. the office is also very clean. i like his use of computer to log visit feedback in each examination room, shows he is organized.........
