Summary
Christina, a former gymnast, gravitated toward sports rehabilitation early in her career. After graduating with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2010, she completed a post-doctorate orthopedic physical therapy residency at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. She received her fellowship training from the Institute of Athlete Regeneration specializing in sports and orthopedic manual physical therapy. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree through Texas Woman's University in Houston, Texas. Her research interests include sport biomechanics and the psychosocial aspects of injury in athletes. With a deep understanding of biomechanics, tissue loading principles, and movement analysis, Christina focuses on optimizing recovery throughout all phases of a patient's rehabilitation. She has a specific interest in concussion rehabilitation, manual therapy, and the rehabilitation of gymnasts, cheerleaders, and dancers. Christina particularly enjoys mentoring future sports …physical therapy specialists as a faculty mentor for Samaritan Athletic Medicine's Sports Physical Therapy Residency Program. Her passion for teaching has also granted her several opportunities to present at state and national conferences. In her free time, Christina enjoys hiking and exploring the area surrounding Corvallis and throughout Oregon.
