Dr. Christina Anne Johnston, DO

Dr Johnston told me at the beginning of my follow up that I had a normal MRI. She then had the tack to tell me that she had not even looked at my images yet. I’m sure radiology did but I think that is irresponsible. She asked no questions to further understand my symptoms. Luckily, I am willing to ask questions on my own. I will not be returning and plan to tell my PCP about my experience.

My 19 year old daughter has experienced multiple symptoms for 6 years and has had a headache for a year. Her primary care physician referred us to her. I went to her first visit with her and found Dr. Johnston to be so condescending I told my daughter I would not go back. Dr. Johnston said my daughter's symptoms were ALL related to migraine. We strongly disagreed and had MRIs to prove otherwise, including a report by a team of specialists. She simply said we were wrong and medicated my daughter. None of it worked and we sought other opinions. Dr. Johnston misread the MRIs but could not admit it. She continued to insist my daughters symptoms were stress related miraines. Today my daughter returned to her office and told her she had been given a diagnosis of chairi, EDS, POTS and autoimmune disorder with a very high heart rate. Dr. Johnston looked strait at her and said, "You are a hypochondriac" My daughter, who is capable and intelligent, began to cry. She is exhausted from her… disorders. Dr. Johnston said again to her, "I see you are crying, but I'm telling you what I believe." My child cried for 3 hours. She should not have to put up with a doctor like this and we will be sure her primary care does not ever refer anyone else to her again. We are done with her. When I told my co-workers, they each had stories of their children or loved ones going through this with Dr. Johnston. They each called their primary care doctors to tell them the same. This will not be tolerated. It is patient abuse of the saddest kind. Do NOT go to Dr. Johnston unless all you have is a migraine. She likes those.
