I have seen 14 Endo's in NM. The first 13 kept telling me I did not have a pituitary tumor. Dr Lovato "sees" the bigger picture and after an MRI showing a 3.7mm growth on left side of my pituitary, Dr Lovato is doing what she can to find what else is going on. I have signs of the hardest thing for Dr.s to diagnose called Cyclical Cushings. Dr. Lovato is willing to do the testing that is needed to get to the root cause of my medical issues. Other Dr.s just want to pump the pills into a patient or just not deal with them, especially in todays world of Big Pharma, the insurance companies and the bottom lines are more important than your or my health. All this is doing is usually treating or masking a secondary issue and never getting a diagnosis into the root cause. The sad thing about the industry is that the TSH is NOT a thyroid hormone and is what is usually being tested by most Endo's, period! This is a failure to patients, in that no one can test the full function of the thyroid by… just a TSH and if lucky a T3 or FT4 test, which still does NOT give you the full function or condition of the thyroid gland. Oh, and hypothyroidism is the biggest problem usually with thyroid, the sad thing is most Endo's will treat you for hypothyroidism and yet 90 - 95% pf those that have hypothyroidism, also has Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. The real problem is the fact that hormone replacement for hypothyroidism does NOT treat the Hashimoto's. As Hashi is a auto immune condition and NOT a thyroid condition even though the auto immune is attacking your thyroid gland! Hashi is all about leaking gut and the foods you eat...PERIOD!!!! There are no drugs to treat Hashimoto's!!!! Dr. Lovato understands my concerns here and is willing to run the needed tests I need.
